Can someone identify these "punch" tools?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by El Greco, Jan 20, 2010.

  1. Bought a small metal box from a surplus store And these "punch" tools were inside. Since General Dynamics, now Lockeed, is near by I thought they might be related to the air industry.

    Thanks

I believe they are tools ***ociated with aircraft riveting. They look like countersink drills and/or countersink punches. Depending on the thickness of the skin being riveted, preparation for 'flush' rivets requires machining the countersink in the rivet hole, or punching the countersink.

Yup, what he said.........Kind of hard to tell, without a closeup view of the "business end", but probably "dimpling" tools.............
