Hey Inlaw and Kroozer. How many dragsters are coming to Symco this year? There were a bunch at SEMA and Me*** had a cool Olds-powered one in his St. Charles auction. There were a few at the Nickey Show in Chicago too. Also saw one in Streator, Ill. in the fall. Maybe I should look for one of those flathead Pontiac dragsters. There's a photo of a really cool one in Speedy Bill's new biography book. <!-- / message -->
Maybe Cliffy can fill us in... but we DO have a bevy (technical term) of 50's-60's modified stock cars set to invade the grounds for the weekend... the guys at Milwaukee Stock Car have indicated a desire to bring some of their restored cars to the show.
Cool again. Russ Truelove had his '56 Merc stocker at Elkhart Lake in the fall. He bought that ****er off the showroom floor, drove it around town and raced it on weekends. Now he's 83 or 84.
Count me in! I hope I don't have any more issues with vintage blacktop roads I may have to bring spare parts this time. (knock on wood)
Hey -- how about like "20 Dragsters at Symco 20-10?" Or 50? How about 100? Would not that be very kool?
I will speak confidently that last year's showing of drag cars started something....I hope! I hear we will have a Xmas tree on the tractor pull arena for 2010 LOL. We had 3 this year. Paul's, Barry's rail and the blue chevy. I would think we will see a dozen or more this year....if we saw a hundred we could let them loose on Riske Road and call it the REAL hundred car pileup. I will have my g***er pickup there for sure. I ran into someone about two weeks ago who knows Barry who owns the rail. There is some talk that we will see more of that group this Aug. I also had a phone call about a month ago from a guy from Milwaukee that is part of the Milwaukee Stock Car group and I sold a '57 Ford Custom roof to one of those guys. I put out a heartfelt invite to them. I am really hoping they come. They have some really neat stuff.

Hey Guys. I'm a displaced Wisconsinite living in Illinois. The dragster is owned by me and lives with Barry in Clintonville. He is gracious enough to manage things for me. I have 13 strips closer than WIR, but it is the best group of racers around. There will be race cars at Symco for sure, and I'm sure Barry will have some surprises for the crowd. We're going to Bakersfield together next month and have a thing or two planned. See ya in August
Thanks!! We enjoyed it last year. Please p*** any major "surprises" past me well in advance so I can make sure it is okay with the owner of the grounds. We also are going to change logistics around a bit for this year. If you need any special room to park, it would be very nice to know ahead of time. I have some of my own tricks up my sleeve for this next year and would love to get you guys involved. Please feel free to call me at any time. (920)540-4576. We all are looking forward to a very fun event for this Aug.
How about we offer FREE vehicle admission to anyone who brings a traditional NON-STREET LEGAL race car to the 2010 show?
If you want special treatment, you must show up Friday morning and let me know your coming with your race car. If you try to show up Sat morning it will be too busy and we may not allow you to drive a truck/trailer on the grounds to unload.
I am hoping for the dynamic duo to be there. I know I will be! <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MivyDwrl6gQ&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MivyDwrl6gQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
