I just scored a 65' Chevy van..64-66 are all the same. I am trying to locate a windshield seal or gasket. They were taking the windshield out to do the body work and CRACKO. I'm putting in a new windshield and don't want to use the old gasket. I read on a van site to use the seal from a Chevy pickup of the same year without the molding channel. Can anyone let me know if this is true? I've had Fords before but this is my first Chevy van.Would be grateful for any help. Charles
Have you tried a Chevy truck dealer. You'd be surprised what is still out there in the parts system for all manufacturers.
Note: My Hollander's Interchange Manual only goes up through 1965 (32nd edit.) If this is a "Step Van", the windshield was unique to the '58-'65 step van models. A "G10 Van" winshield is shared only between the '64-'65 G10 models. I'm guessing that if the windshield part number is different, the gasket would be different, too.
