just back from the melbourne hotrod show, great show, sunny, 25deg(that's celcius for snow burried new england guys),held in probably the best building in the world to hold a car show.plenty of action out the front with a great atmosphere, anyway here's some pics, cheers, thommo.
I'd love to be able to ship my ride "down under" one of these days!!! seems like the aussies have the firmest grip on what it really means to have a "hotrod" these days! lot's of events, things to do, and they don't take themselves so serious. she-oot, it's all just fun ain't it!
we got there at 9.30,the ape at the gate initially refused us entry because our car wasn't shiny enough, much pleading and we finally got in,left at 1.30,cars backed up around the block.
Thank you Thommo for the (big) pics- Nice to see that old Vic Muirhead lowboy HKJ 777 in such nick ( bottom right first pics). Spooky display (nice) on the Rod Henderson '34 .. If you're out there Howdy Rod- " I ain't livin' at Cl***ic Acres no more"..
Thanks for the pics Thommo, got a couple of your ride out the front. I'll post up a bit later. Heaps of cars and people everywhere!
Had to tidy my sock drawer. Actually I finally got started on cleaning my shed after the thrash to get my car on the road in October. I like to visit the Melb hot rod show about once every 10 years. About 6 to go. I liked that '36 though. Thanks for the pics. Looked like a nice day to be out and about. Pete
I agree... very cool car and display ! I have been to Melbourne 3 times and love the car scene down under. Great guys with outstanding cars !
You guys build some really cool cars. You must have some of the negatives for the pictures backwards, steering wheels are on the wrong side????????????? Ha!
