With Autorama coming up(quickly) I thought I would throw this out there.Would anyone be interested in touring the Detroit Historical museum as a side trip from Cobo?We have a new exhibit featuring Poncho Rendon's 1976 top fuel car,as well as some other interesting automotive related goodies. Its much smaller the The Henry Ford,it only takes an hour and a half to tour.If theres interest,I can set it up in advance.I've also done an automotive history tour(Packard plant,T plant, fisher 31) for film, friends and industry. Most are abandoned and destroyed...Depending on what you drive, you can see where it was built.Fisher 21 and 31 built most of the GM bodies up to the 70's.The Packard built..well,Packards.The Ford Piquette plant is where the first ***embly was installed(it was developed at the mack ave plant). The Model T factory is still there and intact. There is really an amazing amount of automtive history in this area, its just in sad shape. (out of context) I would suggest a Armored Personal Carrier,..... (just a suggestion,................ What ?)
I can't argue with that..lol.Its awalys fun when I'm out with a film crew.Nothing like running around with thousands of dollars of camera gear..... Dave
