so ya wiring up my electric autometer gauges. how does this sound. with painless 12 harness took red/white power wire and pig tailed all the gauges together. then made a ground wire and pig tailed all the grounds together then ran the ground gauge lights to the little posts on the guages(there part of the ground that the other grounds are at. then took brown wire and pig tailed all the pos gauge lights together. Sound right Also can I just carry on and wire the electric speedo to the same pig tails I have been doing. instructions say the speedo pos 12volts wire must be fused and red wire from speed sender joins into the same wire.. getting tired and not even sure if this makes sence any more. Will edit in morning. trans is 700r4 with 3 wires coming out of the sender.
all sounds good to me. The red/white wire should be fused so that all the gauges are protected together.
Keep all the speedo wires to them selves. Seperate power and grounds. This is from one of the speedo's instructions I installed. Seperate fuses.
I think it needs at least 15/20 Amp to it's self. I know it needs full 12 volts IGN to process the pulses. The gauge bulbs lit in a row will lower the voltage if on the same circuit. Is it sine wave or Hall effect?
No, it sounds like the lights are wired parallel, that is correct, should go through your headlight switch if you want the light to be adjustable and only come on with the lights, but should be fused.
