Greed may not have been a factor. We don't know her situation. She may have needed the money more than lusted for it, and may have been afraid that Ryan was just a tire kicker. But, the right thing to have done was to tell the 2nd guy that she had already made a deal and that she needed to talk to Ryan when he returned... Then make her decision, or at least tell Ryan face to face that she really needed to sell it to number 2 for financial reasons. But, then again.. she may have just been greedy. lol

Seems like this is drifting OT. All I'm saying is that you don't speak for America. When you said "we as Americans" I guess you were talking about yourself and the mouse in your pocket. Sounds like you're the one with some guilt to share. :D

  3. Well son I spent 20 years defending my country "America" What did you do. I speak about this from what I see. This post is a perfect point. Look at the people in the Congress and Senate who are supposed to represent us. Crooks Mostly! You and Your friends no doubt share wonderful honest relationships but that is not what seems to be in the rest of our America.
    Have a good day:)

Gee Dad, I sucked off the teet of your America. You forgot to mention little old widow ladies with the congress and senate crooks. It's a shame you have such a dismal outlook on life and people. There are lots of good folks out there, look at this site for instance, or are the majority of the members here crooks too??? Thanks for your service BTW but don't use it as a weapon to attack someone you know nothing about.
Also, ask yourself who says things like "we as Americans", it's Congressmen, Senators and beauty contest contestants, think about it.

That sucks. It was cool of you to handle it like a man, though. Karma will probably be on your side for handing back the paperwork.

  8. well you did the right thing Jay and took the high road. I would expect no less from a stand up guy. You know what this means right???? it means you will find something that will be even better. that's the way i see it- and as for the hag who pulled that wretched manuever on you......i like to think she'll get hers....i'm having images of her hanging out with Jacob Marley, dragging her chains that are weighed down by chests full of money in the afterlife....bwahahahahahaaha!

Maybe the lady just realized that she had made a mistake, in her mind, by making the deal with Jive Bomber before offering the car to her widows' friend. The guy that got the car was, it sounds like from Jive Bombers story, more deserving of it because he had been a buddy of her late husband and helped him work on the car, so in her mind he was the person that should get it after she realized it. The fact that he gave her more for it could also have been because he knew she needed the money and also that what he gave was what it was really worth. She may have been distraught and made a too quick decision to sell the car to Jay before thinking it through. Sometimes when a loved one dies the one that's left just wants to get rid of the others stuff really quick and they make rash decisions. Jay did the right thing instead of making a stink and that says a lot about his character. It still sucks though....
