Just bought it this weekend. Going to make the 5 hour drive to pick it up next weekend. It has a 318 poly runs strong but overall it needs a LOT of tlc and time. The interior is completly shot At least I have something to work on now, and as a bonus "I can DRIVE it!!":D

If it was me, I would do either a cop-car, or a post-apocalyptic war machine.

^^^ ah ah ah, funny ****!^^^^^
I can already see it w/ either Cragars or Supremes on thin whites w/ either a 2-tone
paint job or a paneled and laced roof laying frame......w/ dual exhaust comin out under
the bumper, bellflowers would look stupid on this one.
    Nice score!

Thanks to all. Dad wants me to make it a "cop car" but only cause he wants to drive it. I'm not sure exactly how I want to do it yet, first thing is fix the floors, redo the brakes and tune up the engine then I really need to focus on the interior or lack of interior. It'll stay flat back for a while, maybe I can find someone to do some striping to it. Maybe shave the door handles. You might notice it's sitting low, someone put 2' blocks in the rear and cranked down the torsion bar in the front. As far as the "Post Apocalyptic War Machine"...unless I get a mohawk and lots o' piercings soon don't think that will be in the cars immediate future.

Don't shave the door handles....now converting to a 2 door sedan wouldn't be a bad idea...:) Looks good as is. Cop car wheels do look good on those.

Yeah conversion would be cool, but WAAYY beyond my meager skills and tiny wallet.

  14. Keep it stock looking and slide a 500+" stroker 400 b motor under the hood. Then go Camaro and Chevelle hunting.:)

    Nice find BTW!

Post-apocalyptic war machine, i just love those big ol words like Mayonnaise.Hey great score on da 64 !!! They look awsome with fender weel headers............YG

  17. Yeah! What he said! That, 1) is a great find, and 2) has "sleeper" written all over it. Heck,a nicely built 340/360 would move it along quite smartly. Ya done well.

  18. Demo Derby, just kidding!

I found one of those once and my dad wanted to turn it into a cop car, weird.

Looks like a grocery getter, I'll X2 on sleeper. All stock look+big go=sleeper

Hey that 318 poly ain't no slouch those engines seem to just start breathing good at 70 mph and with the solid lifters they have they just wind up all day. My first car was a '65 Coronet 500 2 door hardtop and it would roast the G60's without power braking the engine was well worn and it had a hell of an auto ******. Ah the good old days. Sorry about the rambling.

Dodge's 50th aniversary year! (should say that on the horn rim). That's what our max wedge was, a '64 330 sedan (post) car. Cool find, good luck!

i say build yourself a sleeper. if you build a monster big block for it with a quiet exhaust, and steel guys wheels paints the body color, and 4 doors. the in the rustangs wont know what hit them.

They sell headers for the poly ,B body.I think the price was close to $500.00.Iwanted to get my son a set for his 64 ply fury 318 poly.Find a 4bbl intake,(kind of hard) and some headers and she will keep up with a 360 with the same equip. The poly cant breath thru the log type manifolds, you can get shorty headers from a big block Ford, cut off the flange, and have a flange cut for the poly. You can heat and bend the pipes by packing them full of dry sand, heat and bend to fit .ZOOM,ZOOM,ZOOM.............yg

Thanks for all the responses and enthusiasm. I have been doing a bit of research on the car/engine before I threw down the money. There is a stroker kit for the 318 poly up to 402 cu, producing somewhere in the neighborhood of 475hp and similar torque. That in mind, its more or less beyond my budget, but if I piece it together slowly...plus I found a guy that fabs and sells headers, cams, and stroker kits, and he happens to have a couple of 4bbl intakes and a couple of complete 3x2 intakes just begging for someone to buy them. I am thinking sleeper too, would like to dress it up nice make it look almost restored with some custom touches, but under the hood.."A Fire Belching Weapon of the Gods!!" Its just gonna take time, money and patience. Time, I have plenty of.:D Would love to see faces beaten by a measely 318.

As always i might add, unless you have a fat pocket and dont enjoy buildin your cars
that will always be the case....remember money is always scarce and time is always
plentiful! Patience is a virtue! :D

Enjoy your car, i know i would! :D Its *****in!

I know is not the same car but kinda close and kinda what i would do, but
thats just me and my miserable opinion.

  27. Yeah, that 318 poly is one great motor, and there are some old performance parts still out there. A stroker kit for it? Haven't heard of one,but dang, that would be too cool. Had a 318 in my old '64 Fury and surprised a LOT of folks with that car's performance.

I still have the original 318 and trans for my S.F.;would like to get it out of the garage-anyone interested? No this isn't a cl***ified ad-I'll post a real one for that.

Nice score, one of my favorite Mopars but I am a bit biased. Here's a pic of mine. I have grand plans but it will take a serious cash injection. BTW you won't find an easier car to upgrade to a big block and mated 727. Motor mounts and trans cross member are the same and the drive shaft is the right length. You will need to upgrade the trunion style U-joint to a slip yoke though. I say leave the Poly until you collect enough parts then do the upgrade. Until then just drive the thing. The low compression Poly sounds great though a set of bottles.
