E'TOWN'S 31st ANNUAL NOSTALGIA SUMMERNATIONALS & OLD TIME DRAGS & FUNNY CAR REUNION SLATED FOR SUNDAY JULY 25th!!
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

The 31st Annual Nostalgia Summernationals & Old Time Drags & Funny Car Reunion is scheduled for Sunday, July 25th at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park... Drag Racing Underground and I have been involved with this race since its humble beginnings, and we're extremely proud of just how far its come... Over the years this event has grown into the undisputed biggest and best nostalgia drag racing event of the east, much due to the incredible variety of "old skool" straightline racing machinery that tows in... Come on down to E'Town on July 25th and you're guaranteed to see lots of Stockers, Gassers, Roadsters, Altereds, Diggers, A/FXers and the Fabulous Floppers featured for the Funny Car Reunion portion of the show... The well respected East Coast Gassers and the North East Timing Organization will be on hand with the best they have to offer... There's going to be lots of show cars, vendors, and celebrities on hand too... Walter Frey and the dedicated Raceway Park staff work hard to make this a day of nostalgia drag racing bliss... Often imitated but never duplicated, this is an event you don't want to miss... Be sure to mark YOUR calendar for Sunday July 25th!... I urge you to plan on bringing your entire family out to E'Town for this festive celebration of drag racing history... I'll be there with bells on and so should YOU!!... Groovy, yeah, the E'Town 31st Annual Nostalgia Summernationals & Old Time Drags & Funny Car Reunion is certainly an event worthy of "calendar marking"... I always thought the "be there with bells on" line was just an expression to indicate one's enthusiasm for being somewhere, however, I've seen some folks take it as a line to express their desire to wear "bell bottom" pants-- I do have an actual pair of the old-skool "Coca Cola" bell bottoms stashed away somewhere, they were a popular drag strip fashion item back in the 1970's-- Although it does tend to get slightly warm in New Jersey during the month of July, so short pants might be a more appropriate thing to wear, we'll hafta see... No matter WHAT you wanna wear, I strongly recommend that folks plan on being part of this fun-filled nostalgia event... You'll see vintage Stockers, Gassers, Roadsters, Altereds, Diggers, and Floppers all assembled together in a glorious celebration of drag racing's glory days... Doc, I was kidding about the bells. Way back when they had a coca cola cavalcade of stars. Had a buch of big names. I remember the pants !!!

You're very welcome... I know that for some folks, the end of July might seem like a long time away, but, I've come to realize that it's smart and highly advisable to do like Slim Pickens & 6t5frlane, and get your schedule of events you wish to attend in order, the sooner you get them written down on your calendar, the better... I see a lot of old friends at this event, and I also make lots of new ones... There's a very friendly atmosphere among the attendees... And another good trait of this race is the fact that there's such a wide variety of nostalgia themed machinery, everybody is included-- Like I said earlier, there's Stockers, Gassers, Altereds, Roadsters, Diggers, AND Floppers-- It's ALL at Englishtown... The action on the drag strip is groovy, and the scene in the pits is massive, there's so much to see and take in... I also recommend this event to old timers who are looking for an event to take the youngins to-- Usually when you bring members of the younger generations to this race, they walk away with a sincere appreciation of drag racing's days gone bye-- AND, very often the younger folks become so enthralled by the scene, that they actually wind up coming back year after year-- even young folks can appreciate the look and culture of the sport's earlier eras... It's a blast for "nostalgia fans" of all ages... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

  7. My calendar's marked - this is a great event. Now we just need the weather to cooperate......

  8. I'll be there with my shorts, sun screen, tee shirt, hat, umbrella, jeans,Woolrich flannel shirt and parka. After-all, it is New Jersey, so you have to be ready for any kind of weather.
But it doesn't matter what the weather is, it is always a hoot and a half. :)
Been goin' to the Old Time Drags at E-Town since they started and goin' to E-town since they opened. Made several trips down the 1320 if memory serves me correct. See you there, thanks for the reminder.:)

    Hi Gang
We plan to have the Bradfords AA/FA on the east coast during the summer. We will be match racing exhibitions with Rattrap, Nanook, and Pure Hell this is not confirmed yet as we are getting the booking firmed up.
How about fuel altereds at E'town I havn't run there since fuel alterd tour 1970.

It's going to be great to see the "Frantic Ford" once again at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park... I checked out the "Frantic Ford" web site... As some folks already know, I go waaay back with Bob Rosetty... I've watched Bob stay in the thick of the Nost F/C movement for a long, long time, and I've seen him become arguably the most dedicated of car owners, drivers, and now builders, of some of the sweetest Nostalgia themed Floppers on the scene-- I'm sure once the "Frantic Ford" is ready to roll, it's going to be a super fine ride... Bob is a good guy, what I like about him is that he's a real gentleman, he's always been nice to me over the years-- He's one of guys in this scene who is respectful and has his head on right-- I've interviewed him several times for DRU... I look forward to seeing the pretty Frantic Ford "pony car" return to E'Town for the Nostalgia Summernationals... The best to you, Bob, and your partners on this much anticipated and appreciated venture-- This will be one "recreation" that will surely provide hardcore nostalgia fans with ample elation... It's always a treat to see what new rebuilds and recreations come out for the event-- it definitely adds to the excitement and enchantment of the day...
