Jan 8Th I paid by paypal for a item a guy said he had and would sell (business dealing in obsolete parts) on the 16Th I emailed and he said he would send the parts .. on the 20Th I called and he said he just had to pull it and send it.. emailed 22 no resoponce ,emailed today ..waiting .. I have bought a lot of items from him before on ebay.. If I bought on a Monday the parts would be in by Thursday or Friday same week!, I know I am protected by paypal .. BUT I just want the parts how long or what would u do..?

  2. you have prior dealings with him and havent been screwed, hopefully he is just busy with life issues and will make things right.
I think the answer to your question lies within the rules set by paypal concerning fraud and reporting times allowed.

Put a claim in with Paypal. They will put pressure on him, and if he really has no way of actually sending parts, Paypal will refund what you paid, and Paypal will deal with him for there money.

    What Turboroadster said!

I know even I have taken a bit to long to ship something out, not on purpose -just things come up, I dont have the right size box, and ment to go to town that day and get one, but something came up..... Not making excuses for the dude, but sh1t happens. Keep dropping him emails and phone calls, be up front that your dealings in the past where quick but you are concerned that this time somethings wrong. Hell he is a big boy and should understand. You just want what you paid for. Good luck

Since he has to pull the parts,is he in a snow area? Just a thought,I've waited a while in the winter for stuff that was buried in the Snow Belt.
You've dealt with him before...not sure I'd be too worried...yet

  7. I waited a month for a part (a sheetmetal patch panel) from a member here and would have been ok with the wait since it took place during the holidays but the communication ****ed, the guy made one excuse after another and was generally a real jerk about the whole deal. The part finally showed up packaged using duct tape, slightly damaged & covered with surface rust.... I let it go since I know up front that contacting him again will only raise my blood pressure and not result in anything but more excuses... As I said though, communication is EVERYTHING. I sent this joker numerous PMs asking for an update, etc. and even though it showed that he had been here posting other stuff for sale he ignored my messages and when he finally did respond he claimed he was "out of town".

I wouldn't panic yet. If he's been OK before, you're likely OK. It also depends on whether this is a full-time business for him or a side line. I make some parts on the side and sell pieces I dont' need. My regular business comes first, but I let guys know when I'll be out of town or busy.

For whatever reason, some guys will not respond if they have not done what they said they'll do. I guess they feel bad or something. My machinist friend is great, but if he ignores me for a couple of days, I know my parts are not done.
