Nice car and a shame about the damage. Not to piss on everything that's happened, but was there not another venue to move the auction to? Or maybe even pospone it? Just curious.

The only way this could be worse is if [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Doyle Gammell 3-window was parked next to it,... Well, this just ruined my day.

Sad to see the damage to the coupe. Its fortunate it does,nt look like unrepairable damage, but I would be upset If it was mine. Someone asked about the fenders and paint. The car has a St Louis connection that is left out of the articles I,ve seen. A fellow brought it to town pretty much intact, and had it rebuilt to its current condition ,They changed the fenders, paint, detail and mechanically by Dave Conrad . Then it went to Texas.

Someone told me today that part of the auction paperwork is a waiver that states that Russo and Steele is not responsible for property damage that occurs during the auction. That means if the owner didn't bother to put insurance on their car, they are **** out of luck. ****s all around.

That is terrible! For what these auction companies are making maybe it's time to step up to a convention center or enclosed stadium.

I did work on the Bingham coupe in the the mid '90's. Put on new front fenders, removed trailer light, and installed '39s,rebuilt steering box and front end and painted the fenders, gas tank etc. It was owned by Fred and Dave Weber in St.Louis. I think the orig. welled fenders went with the car. Dave Conrad
