I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and just wanted to step in and introduce myself.

I've been into traditional rods for a while now, and was excited to have stumbled onto this board. From what I've read in the short time I've been here, it seems like this site is filled with very knowledgeable people and a ton of great info.

I'm 26 and live in Newport, RI, and am originally from New Bedford, MA. While I don't have a car right now, I do hope to pick one up sometime this spring. I've been working on cars since I was in high school, where I built a '73 Chevy K10. It had a mild 350/350 combo, with a 4" lift and 35" mud tires. I did the body work and shot the primer myself, and also redid the interior. I was also into F-bodies for a while, I had a '80 T/A, an '88 GTA, and a '98 Formula LS1 6-speed. Right now I drive a lifted '97 Grand Cherokee. The Jeep thing is getting old, and there aren't really any legal places left to 'wheel it.

I'd like to build a mild custom, what kind I'm not sure of yet. I used to be a die hard Chevy guy, but not so much anymore. I'd like to do something different like maybe a B-O-P car. I'd like to find a good driver to start with, and I'd probably nose, deck, and lower it, with painted steelies with wide whites. Black primer, of course. Nothing revolutionary or anything, just a cool cruiser. Pretty much anything I build will be unique in this area, I've only seen a handful of trad rods around here.

Anyway, this is way too long already.

You can say that again! It's in the 30's right now, and it's only going to get colder.
