Get in contact with your local VFW, I did it in November and gave them about 300 to send to them. They have the info to get it to the people who are interested in them.

The problem is they're heavy and i cant afford to pay for shipping!!:(

  7. THANKS for thinking of the troops! They need all the support that we can give them (and more)!

I try to help out with a group called "The Pin Up Angels" who do retro pin-up art and then use the proceeds from donations to send "care packages" to deployed troops. Go to www.thepinupangels.com and ask them how to get the mags to them. There is an "East Coast" and a "West Coast" chapter of the Angels, but my stupid company's IT security won't let me get to any of their websites from here or else I'd give you more specific details.

You can e-mail one of the EAST coast girls at erinmoser2@hotmail.com if your website search is unsuccessful. Her pin up name is "Miss Lilly Day", and I know that she'd appreciate anything that you'd like to donate. Even if the donations of the magazines doesn't work, they're always looking for all kinds of small trinkets and "stuff from home" to add to the care packages.

I'll also send her a link to this thread and see if she can make any other recommendations!

    Thanks again!

Well now you are right up my ally lol. I am currently deployed overseas. And am collecting mags for the soldiers here in Kosovo. I can also see if I can get you more addresses. So the mags have not gotten to be a cluster I have people sending 1 care package about every 3-4 weeks. 2 if you want.

The Post Office has a "Flat Rate" program that no matter the weight (up to 70 LBS) will be at a certain price. An APO or FPO address should be the same as any other U.S. postage.
I have some also, so if I can get an address to send them to I will send them.
Hats off to all our GI's and Vets.....Thanks!

I have been sending them with the flat rate boxes for while now to Afganistan-cost $10-12 each time--there is a soldier here on the site-that I send them to-always put in a couple of Hot Rod type ball caps too

His name is BUFF here on the HAMB

This would be the greatest thing ever! Sitting here in Afghanistan reading the R&Cs that I brought over and waiting for subscriptions have held me over but once in a while I get one that has been thumbed through a little much.
Try getting onto a Post website and contact the Public Affairs Office (PAO). They may give you contact info for the FRG or tell you how to get the ball rolling.

PM HotRodCh***is or search for "Christmas HAMB". Kevin organizes a care package drive for the troops every Christmas. They send 100s of packages of car magazines, food, toiletries, etc. I'm pretty sure they get help with shipping from someone.

Yes the books are very heavy... I'm currently in Afghanistan and I have had some guys from this site send me some mags. Let me tell you that is very good for morale. When I received some on Christmas Day I was really happy because I was homesick. Before I left home I packed up some plastic tubs and had them sent with our equipment. I p***ed them out to guys here and that gave them something to do. I'm doing the same when my wife sends me books. I could always use more especially Street Rodder old ones as I have a subscription to the new ones. Guys do what you can and from a Soldier thank you all for your support.

You can go to anysoldier.com and get address's too. A flat rate box cost about $11.00 to send to the troops, well worth it. Remember there are women over there too.
