Hi, I'm a newby I have a 1930 model A coupe with a rumble. it was my dads first car when he was 15 and it sat for years in a field until his step dad wanted to buy it and restore it. My dad told him that he could have it if he left it to us in his will which he did. Unfortunately My Grampa died before he could finish it but had a real good start on it. Everything was there and the frame and drivetrain were rolling. All we had to do was put it all together. which we did (with a little help) that was over 20 years ago. the car still looks great. all original. My Dad p***ed in 2002 and now its mine. We always talked about rodding it but other cars and lots of bikes just got in the way. I want to keep the orig**** banger in it and put speed parts on it, drop the front end and so forth with white walls, I'm 6'3" so i'm not chopping the top. this seams like a good place to find info and what not. I was a professional motorcycle mechanic (BMW certified but all makes mostly street) and now i work in parts sales ( motorcycle). so thats it. HI.....I guess if I have a first question its the front end? from what I can see it seams pretty simple. buy one or cut mine?
i think I would buy one. They are fairly cheap and if nothing else I am sure a restorer out there will pay money for the original.
Welcome aboard. Glad to read that you will carry the rod on through a 3rd generation in your family............
