If your going to pull a trailer with your truck leave the bumper. If not do away with it. put the tail lights in the ( french them ) rear fenders. If you leave the bumper you can put them in the bumper.... Now this is only my .02

I'm with Bob. Don't use the cliche Caddy lights. Yeah they might be cool but they're everywhere. Do something different.

As said, if you're rodding it, lose the bumper. If not, keep it. As for the lights, it's my opinion that 59 Caddy lights belong on nothing but 59 Caddys.

I had a bumper like that on my 69 GMC. I wonder if a company produced them? I would lose the bumper though.

Wow you have alot of work ahead of you. My father in law has a 52' long bed sitting in his yard that's in great condition. Always wanted to fix it up. Still has original working motor, well last time we checked. Maybe when we get the 57 Chevy done we can start on it, or just sell it! Anyway good luck :)

I like that truck for some strange reason. Might look cool really really low, and chopped. But all else bone stock. Leave the bumper!

You want to hear from all the hamb? That's 100,000 people! Hahahahaha! Just kiddin' with ya, pumpkin. Well you asked for opinions, and Bad Bob gave ya one! You think maybe he doesn't like caddy tail-lights, at least on pickups? Hahahahaha! OK, pumpkin, I have to agree with getting rid of the bumper, unless you want a real utilitarian look for your pickup. But considering that you're thinking of using Cad tail-lights, I don't imagine that's what you have in mind. So off with the bumper! Now...you didn't even ask us to give an opinion on what kind of tail-lights to use, you just asked the best place to put 'em. But I've got to say, that unless you're gonna do the rest of the truck in a real custom way, I might suggest using different ones too. If you're gonna lower it, and give it a "Dream Truck" persona, then by all means use them. If the truck as a whole is gonna be subtle, use a more subtle tail-light. Where to put them? In the back of the fenders. I've never liked roll-pans. So put a nice chrome bumper on that thing, and tail-lights in the fenders. Good luck.

I'd lose that step bumper ASAP. I wouldn't run a rear bumper, but would suggest you adapt a chrome bumper if you're inclined to do so. I've seen some decent chrome rear bumpers on old Stude pickups.

It's a friggin' truck, leave the bumper! Everybody yanks 'em off, I personally (remember-opinions) think trucks need 'em. Flake on the Caddy tails, too. Put something more utilitarian on there. Remember, it's a Binder, they ain't purdy anyway!

I vote for keep a bumper but not that bumper. And no on the caddy lights. What about a body color bumper pulled in tight with 49 Merc tail lights at each side that wrap around with the curve of the bumper ends.

    Cool truck, good luck!!

Lowered, pie crust slicks, haul-ass motor of your preference = farm truck from hell.

Don't sweat the details right now... get the thing where you want it mechanically, then tinker with the appearance.

I can't figure out why people can't leave these old farm trucks alone... what the hell did it ever do to you??? hahaha

I used to hate these bumpers 25yrs ago, every truck in every field I looked at had one! But I like it! Keep it, unless it's a show queen that's never driven, bumpers are your friend. ( I know, a guy with no insurance rear-ended my truck last month) Besides, that's considered traditional now, isn't it? French in the '59 tailights. Just my opinion, but what do you expect from somebody from hooterville?
