Whats the going price for a 52 ford flathead v8? Complete with all accessories, not 'broken' but likely in need of a rebuild. Attached to a automatic.

I'm trying to justify what good stuff is in a parts car I'm thinking of buying. I'm a studebaker man and not sure the price/desirability of Ford stuff.

I think it would depend on if it rolled over or was locked up and if there were ay evidence of oil in the radiator or water in the oil. Is it still in a car/truck or just sitting?

Still in the car, rad holding antifreeze. Oil in the engine looks like no coolant in it.

try sites like: all of craigslist Here in Nor Cal about $500-$1500, most with trans.
anything is only worth what you get for it.

I'll have to agree with Jalopy Joker, I haven't seen anything under $500 that wasn't junk for a while. But you never know, good deals are always out there

Hey, michiganman061. I don't know where in Michigan you are, but you might consider going to see my old buddy Roy Montgomery. He lives north of Lapeer, and has been building flatheads for a long long time. I know for a fact that he has some rebuildable flatheads, and can build you a nice one. His business is listed as R&E obsolete, 810-664-9319. He's open every day, even Sundays 'til about 4:30pm. He's about 80 yrs. old, and can't hear real good, so if you call, speak up. His wife Eldora might answer...she can hear fine. Good people. Tell him Rick sent ya. If you go to see him, give yourself enough time to shoot the breeze with him, and look at all his cool stuff.

I wouldn't pay more than 100.00 for an 8BA without pullin the heads and such and lookin for cracks. I have owned a lot of flatheads, and every 8BA I have ever owned has been cracked. 59AB's, thats another story.

I bought two last year. First was an 8ba block with all the stock parts and I think truck oil pan and the truck trans adapter ring, along with a dual offy intake and offy heads, stock crank and a 4" merc crank, and a pair of carbs for $1600, but dis***embled. Second was a '50 with the T85/6 (not sure what it is...but it's sitting out there collecting dust) and the rear axle for $1500

Depends on what all it comes with.
