Not 50 or 100 bolts, just the number I want ...

I need grade 5 and grade 8 bolts for my 32 roadster project

I am blessed with numerous hardware suppliers and even retail stores that have grade 5 and 8.

For really special stuff I buy at aircraft suppliers, such as:

    http://www.aircraftspruce.com/

I use these mostly because they are pre-drilled, so I can run castle nuts and safety wire for the "look".

  3. My local NAPA store has them.even in this small town

sorry,I just noticed you are across the pond......

I go to the local hardware store up the road from my house. But I see youre in Sweden. Sae hardware as Im sure you have found out is probably difficult to get ahold of. Youre probably as frustrated as I am when I try to figure out which metric bolt I need...

Here in the US most of the Grade 8 stuff is now China made and not really good. In fact the grade 8 stuff is probably really grade 5 or less.

Stainless is the worst. China stainless is weak and will gall severely if you load it up or spin the nuts too fast.

Here in Los Angeles if I want good bolts I head to Aircraft Surplus places. We have Luky's (formerly Joe Factor) in Burbank, CA and Cal-Aero Supply in Paramount, CA.

    Cal-Aero http://www.calaerosupply.com/

Luky's http://lukyshardware.com/ She is a nice lady and bought the business from Joe after she worked there for many years.

If you want really good stuff than ARP is the best http://www.arp-bolts.com/

  11. About everywhere in the world where I've worked on - or built - American equipment, there has been a Caterpillar Tractor dealer or distributor. This link will get you their catalog of nuts and bolts - with the individual part numbers for each .....

They used to advertise they could virtually any piece in a day or so. Cat has the highest quality of hardware I've found - and if you need super strong stuff....they've got it.

    Good Luck with your project...

I buy mine from the implement dealer down the road a few miles. Sells grade 5 and 8 by the pound, cheaper and better stuff that any hardware store I've been to. I know you folks grow barley, wheat and sugar beets over there, so there must be somewhere the farmers go to get their hardware.
