A big "YOUR WELCOME" from us. Ken's smile was about as big as yours and wants one for himself. -Jason
[ QUOTE ] I like it...now explain to me why you didn't build it yourself. [/ QUOTE ] Explain to us why he owes you an explanation. Did he spend your money or something?
I love it, but I love everything that you 3 are involved with. Someday when finances allow, I'll be givin you a call Jason. Congrats Blake!
Thanks everyone for the compliments, here and in my pm's. Anyone thinkin about getting a FlyRite better do it before Jason turns into a rockstar!
[ QUOTE ] Explain to us why he owes you an explanation. Did he spend your money or something? [/ QUOTE ] Call me crazy, but I was under the impression that this place was about building or modifying your own stuff? I'm a huuuuge fan of Jason & co. and they know it. Just curious why a gear head wouldn't have a go at it themself. No matter what, great bike.

BLAKE, you ****. Edit: Guess I need to be specific around here at As the HAMB Turns. Blake, you **** because I'm jealous of the bike. I don't care if you built it. In fact, I'm glad that you bought it from Jason and Co.

[/ QUOTE ] I figure a bike that goes over 100MPH in the 1/4 at around 12 seconds is pretty respectable(My bone stock 88") Blakes engine is an S&S 96". -Jason
[ QUOTE ] I figure a bike that goes over 100MPH in the 1/4 at around 12 seconds is pretty respectable. -Jason [/ QUOTE ] Very, I was just messin'. Though I did get in trouble with my boss at the last bike shop I worked at. A customer asked if I could make his bike fast. I told him I could make it fast in comparison to other Harleys, but the rice rockets would still whup up on him. Sad truth that it is. Of course I'm stuck somewhere in between with my Duc, well until the twisty stuff starts...
[ QUOTE ] Call me crazy, but I was under the impression that this place was about building or modifying your own stuff? [/ QUOTE ] Crazy...I don't see an issue with getting help fulfilling your dream car, bike, etc. I'd have Jason an co. build me one too 'cause I work too damn much to build everything I want, but more importantly they Flyrite guys understand our taste. Blake may not have built it, but I can tell it has his influence all over it. These guys have had a hook in my mouth for a while. I've been fighting it but they are realing me closer and closer to their boat. Great job guys.

[/ QUOTE ] Not to Hijack this thread but I too am very impressed with the Flyrite boys. To what extent can you be involved in the build at places like Flyrite? I have heard of many shops that make bikes that fit the shop not the customer. Is places like Flyrite and ****er Punch a differnet story? Maybe the Flyrite boys themselfs or folks that have delt with these awesome shops could answer these questions. The reason for my question is that I too would like to get a old school chop. However I would like to have a say on what goes on and what don't. Would also like to try my hand at doing the upolstery and paint myself. Thanks... Brian
Brian, Flyrite sells rolling ch***is so you can buid it your way. I think ****erpunch does too. Just add motor and ****** and some odds n' ends. Thats what I plan on doing. Should be a fun project. Josh
HOTWHEEL nailed it - I bought this bike for several reasons: - FlyRite is the most bike for the buck around - Jason & Co. were cool enough to work with me on a one-off model that incorporated my input - They are great guys, so they'll get my money before some other bike shop or parts house does I'd like to build one in the near future... right now I'm proud as hell of the FlyRite I just BOUGHT!

[/ QUOTE ] Amen. Hotwheel is a very wise man. Jason and Co are rulers. Barnet is the best there is. As is Fatluckys. Blake is a man of very good taste. Here's to all of you. (if I could aford Gene Winfield or Gary Howard I would'nt be sanding on my 51 this weekend)
Thanks for the compliment, Shaun! I agree...doin things yourself is cool, and I think it's a good idea to learn as much as you can. I don't think someone HAS to do EVERYTHING or EVERY PROJECT themselves, though. Sometimes it's nice to have a vision and turn someone else loose on it! I just flaked the dash in the van...I probably won't even stripe it...I'll more than likely have Jeff Shea stripe it and Jime Litwalk and Ron Palmer paint on it! I can stripe and paint...sometimes it's just nice to have something someone else put their heart into. Know what I'm sayin?
That is one hot punkin'! Blake, you and your guys done good. I'm looking forward to seeing in person tomorrow. John
I'd like to say that I appreciate your not taking my question as an insult. It was an honest and genuine question and I was just curious. Great bike and fine reasons for doing it. Again, really nice work Jason & Co. The bike looks great. The important thing is that it got built. One way to look at it is this....In history, nobody remembers the builder....just the designer....Frank Lloyd Wright...Henry Ford...etc etc etc....If I was rich, I would have a hundred shops building 200 projects for me....which would give me more time to imagine and design the next 200 projects. Before I saw the pics, I didnt care for EVO's, actually hated em.... except for what flyrite was building, and yours looks like the best thing they(and you) have done so far......I love being proven wrong!!!...EVO's ROCK...(well...at least yours does )
Thanks everybody for the good words. To be totally clear, I had some ideas... JASON, BARNETT, and FATLUCKY are the ones who made them work. They rule. Now it's time to get those pleated floorboards dirty!
[ QUOTE ] I like it...now explain to me why you didn't build it yourself. [/ QUOTE ] not to be a ****,but i thought you bought a flyrite bike too? i love your bike BLAKE,looks gangster!
