Cool pix. Always fun taking a day off and hitting a yard with old iron, been too long since I did. Nice Galaxie BTW. I'm in the process of fixing up a '66.

the dodge truck above was actually straight all around V8 and a runner! I was thinking how good it would look bagged and slammed to the ground set up as a bike hauler! maybe some 18 or 20s set to look like og steel wheels with some dodge dog dish hub cap centers ? kind of OT for the hamb ...or is it? Any way last try for a cool late 50s Plymouth or dodge wagon and a few more stacks of dodges I for some reason cant get them to load he also had tons of cougars and a few edsels pretty cool stuff! if its not raining next time Ill try and snap a few more! I got all the parts for the Galaxie I was looking for so was a good trip!

So will you be taking orders for the next time you go back? The front end on that '69 Valiant (circled in yellow) looks awfully nice......

  7. That's great to see some older stuff. All the yards around here got cleaned out a couple of years ago when the scrap prices were so high. Now you can't find much over 4 or 5 years old.

It was hard enough to find stuff that wasn't all rusty here, but the high prices really finished it!

My dream has always been to own a junkyard like this, my wife says i'd never sell anything though.

  11. Two things:

My wife actually said we should buy a junkyard after retirement.....she must really want to get rid of me! I'd never come home!

I really miss junkyards. They used to be easy to get to and cheap. Now there's entry fees and none of them are inside an hours drive. The suburbs expanded and drove them out. The cost of running them just couldn't keep up with EPA fees and property taxes. It*****s.

I'm driving 6 hours one way to get to a yard I havent been to.It's part of the adventure.
24 hours in a day and I only sleep 4-5 of them so thats plenty of time for driving and looking/buying.

Nice Junk Yard, it looks like a 35 ford (gray) in the background, any idea what the price was?
I'm looking for a pair of chrome tail light bezels and the checker board chrome piece that goes on the bottom of the trunk (about 8" high) for a 68 galaxie 500
    Regards
