Too much TV Show drama on the HAMB lately

don't want to start no trouble but can someone explain how we can talk about songs or about dad's dying or way of topic items or about everything elce but when a new guy post something about a damn car you delete it? if it's about an old car aint that what this site is about , and then when you try to reply to them it says you can't talk to them , I just don't understand I guess I need to be a pay member to understand

 

I'm a paying member and I still don't have a decoder ring that gives me the secret access code to your post..........

What I do know, and it comes with being a valued member since what? 2004? Shoot Ryan a pm, or Metalshapes.......or any of the other mods and ask them politely what rule you violated and why it was deleted.

The Alliance is just a perk, for an already perky place......that and I enjoy Ryan having to slave over my name. =O)

Dude, you posted a thread about Pimp My Ride............what did you expect to have happen? No one (well, except for you) cares about that retarded show and **** like that does not belong on the HAMB.

 

I will try that I just do not think I'll get an honest answer , because my thread was deleted as stated in the ad Too much TV Show drama on the HAMB lately but there was a thread started today about what to name a t.v show and american picker show threads everywhere amoung tons of others , my thread was informational telling people not to buy the cars listed from that show but a member can get on here and show 1000's of pictures and most are of newer motorcycles and he's ok ? atleast mine was about a car , and people talk about family members that die? atleast mine was about a car , i feel as if I was an old member or a paying member that would not happen, there was a GUY OR GIRL not sure that posted a thread about needing Songs with car names in them to play at a car show (((all old car related ))) his thread got deleated, he said something about it and they sent me a email and said there name got deleted, but yet the same day a thread was started about cartoons with cars in them so whats the difference? I have seen some good threads get deleted but yet dumbs ones that are not car related get to stay on here and if you look all the off topic threads that don't get deleted are from paying members , just don't seem fair , I posted a thread yesterday about a 41 willy's with a newer frame under it and it got deleted but I searched and found over 30 cars with newer model frames under them and they did't get deleted and none that were not deleted were NFG or newbies

and if you'd have read the whole post it was not about the show . it was about the work they performed on a hamb friendly car

 

Not a good way to start your term here on the HAMB. Sit back read some posts and learn what we are about before starting your *****ing.

 

claymore I have read alot here and have used my Dad's name for 4 years now so in a way i'm not new it just upsets me the way some do things , I don't want any trouble and my name will more then likley be deleted ((( I don't want to loose my name ))) I just want to be able to post about real cars not make believe cars or ratrods or Vw's just plain Old cars my post was not about the show but about the car that I seen today

If you understood, you would already be an Alliance member.

It's simple. This is a forum dedicated to traditional hotrodding, meaning stick to that. There is a tolerance for historical posts, contemporary tweaks and new methods for achieving old challenges.

The Moderators police the worst of the OT material, but they shouldn't have to. We should police ourselves by refraining from posting if it isn't in the mission statement. We should discourage others when they stray too far and we all have a role in coaching the newbies. Don't go thinking you're being singled out. I have had a few of my own posts deleted and a thread or two closed. I have also reported a few for those same actions. Like said before, sit back and watch, learn, enjoy.

**** happens, why cry about it? It's Ryan's playground, you have to either deal with that or move on. But the ***hole quotient is low here compared to say the board at Ol' Skool Rodz, so it's probably worth your time to let it go and not make a big deal of it.

People are unfair sometimes, not saying anyone in particular or on this board. You cant do anything about them deleting posts except try to pretend you are living between 1920-1970 or so. The board is all about this era, so that means no posts about upgraded frames or anything else. If you keep that era mindset on here you will be okay. Some rules are clear, some not so much because there are so many gray areas, but you just have to deal with it. Best is to just call it a day with pointing out whats wrong/right because its useless.

You really should re-read what you type before you post it. You are making yourself sound like a Division 1 idiot. I am an Alliance Member, and a thread I posted in got deleted. I didn't completely agree with it, but that's okay. There was another thread that I thought should have been, but it wasn't, and that's okay too. I'm really a guest here, so that comes with the territory. You don't own the joint, act like it.

And as for the posts about family members dying? Are you really taking issue with that? In the end, all of this stuff about cars and tradition boils down to the people behind them. There would be no "community" here without the people. The HAMB is like an extended family to a LOT of the members on here. And, just like extended family, there are those you argue with, those you plain can't stand, and those you cannot spend enough time with. And, just like real family, you learn to roll with it. Why would you want to stifle someone sharing their grief with members of their extended family? Sheesh, of all the things to complain about, that would be the last thing I would pick.

Other than that, your Thread that was Deleted was a long Rant that really came down to 3 things.

- Pimp My Ride built a car that was On Topic for the HAMB.

- It was Garbage.

- And you were so surprised about that, you felt the need to warn us all.


Why would you be surprised?

The HAMB is for the most part a Builders Board.
We know how long **** takes to build, and we can see the butchery going on, on most of these kind of shows.

And as far as it being On Topic, you gave no Info on the car other than that it was a Moredoor Impala.
So we'd have to take your word for it.

I bet that even if it was the right year, it looked like a ******s Handbag by the time they were done with it....
