This time last week ,we got the Roadster fire'd up ,drove it down the road ,then took it to a big event across the Canterbury Plains in Rangiora. Heres the link to some build shots also http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359122
I got a very happy 14 year old boy ! all the hard work over the last few years ,he can now see the end result. It goes real good ,seems to do every thing right........
Hey , Kuztom , you and your young bloke have done a mighty fine job , your lucky , my daughter is 24 and not into the rodding scene at all , nothin' like goin' for ya first real run love that little car ...............cool cheers Steve in Oz
No other place for it , its secured down, the batterys a sealed type and theres still heaps of room to stretch the legs out
Congradulations, the first ride even with the unevitable bugs to work out is by far the funest. Cool rod, what rad are you running? mustang?
Im told it s a GM one ,just forget the brand, it was given to us ,so used it , we need to do something so ya cant see the top tank from the front. Hey Squeak from Bakersfield was at this event , he even had a look over Bill's Roadster.
haha, has fooled a few so far, the reason we left them on was that if they were removed ,the body would just look like a glass T-Bucket body. Even had some one convinced that the body opens up in the middle from behind the gas tank........
KUSTOM...DAMN i love that roadster. i mean every thing about it. man you did a beautiful job with very little investment. and i mean that in a VERY GOOD way. your old hoppy's remind me of the 50s. O YEA i was there. WHY? i'am 68 yrs. old and loving all hotrods...POP.
Hi Steve. Good to see you and HRK on the road in that car. I'm in Ch-ch end of next month for a band re-union gig at Al's Bar, so I'll look you up if I get the time. Cheers, Marty.
Thanks very much for those words, means a lot to us , we had very limited funds to work with, the whole thing owes us less than 4.5 K ,Kiwi dollars, the wheels are borrowed off a good ol mate so Bill has to save some pocket money now ! hahah You better Marty or I will chase ya down , hey let me know when ur playing I will try get there also. If ya got time I could show ya around some sheds, Stottles etc ,if ya want.
Outstanding example of hot rodding at it's best. I'll bet it's a blast to take for a ride. Well done!! Frank
Met Steve and his son at the show last weekend what a neat young guy his son is and so proud if this is the future of hotrodding and the type of guys who will be in it i am all for it well done guys great effort you have styled it just right right back to basics but with the reliability and build quality of a modern car a lot can be learnt from this type of build what better way for a young guy to get into rodding and its a father and son project to boot NEAT!!!!!
