Judging by the number of posts, It looks like iyhis truck is doing what groundbreaking rods should do... get people talking!
I'm gonna hold my judgement until I see it in person.

In a car show I would like to see this truck displayed right next to the Ala-Kart.

Think about the similarities of intent along with the differences.

    Similarities:

Both are/were built to Wow a show crowd.

Both are over the top in detail changes and pure glitz.

    Both are trucks.

    Differences:

One is a slightly funky, in a late '60's early 70's "hippie rod" kind of way,* race car inspired Hotrod.
The other is a funky late '50's Hotrod inspired Custom car.

I wouldn't drive this truck, until those brake lines on the seat are installed and full of fluid, doh! ;)

*Ya probably had to be there to understand why I get that feeling about it.
It was a time when I think they were called "buffalo wheels" were real popular.

Anybody good enough with photoshop to color the louvers, hinges, stake pockets and rivets body color?

This is more like jewerly or art.

Thats a nice looking banger, can't tell from the somewhat fuzzy pic if its based on an A block or a B block. I can't tell what brand the overhead conversion is either. Its got an A waterpump, no oil drain back tube, but can't see if it has provisions in the block for a fuel pump.

Just went and looked at the build slides, I see now that the engine is based on a Donovan banger block.
The truck has more bling than I care for, but it is one hell of a detailed build. Minus some of the louvering and polished accents that thing would be spot on.

I think, "Just 'cause you can, don't mean you should!" applies here.

It should have been a roadster truck. Lots of coin in it & if it would have been a roadster it could have been in the running for the AMBR.

NITRO...WOW what a beautiful hotrod! thank's for posting. and NO i don't think it's ugly or over done. just because the engine is quite different doesn't mean shit! and did you notice how clean his shop is, or was that unconventional too?...POP.

I totally agree. That was a horrible choice in wheels, they suck beyond belief.

  24. Way too many "flashy bits". Kinda like a Rhinestone suit, works if you are onstage not so much in the McDonalds drive through.

Fabrication is over the top. Glad to see Stinger getting credit from some of the locals.

Looks like rivets are the new "It Girl" for street rodders. That thing is everything a truck shouldn't be. BUT people got work out of it in this economy so I have to say attaboy Mr. Poteet.
