Here is the '46 that my father picked up last year. I haven't had a chance to post in a while, but I thought I would share...

I'll grab a few pics of the engine next time I go by there but it has the original "Green Diamond" inline flathead 6. The previous owner has taken plenty of care in the restoration and there is not very much work left to do.

We need a horn button, a few parts to get the windshield wipers working, some gasket work and the carb needs a little tweaking. It runs and drives but is not reliable for much more than a spin around the block right now.

It's pretty clean that's for sure and fun to work on. It was the first time I have seen left hand thread lug nuts though. Didn't take long to figure it out, (especially with the "L" on the tip of the stud). The previous owner passed away and his sons didn't want it. I couldn't believe it. They told us it didn't run and it had been sitting outside for a while. We paid 'em, drained the gas, grabbed a new battery sanded the points, checked the oil, filled her up and drove her home that afternoon.

That thing is awesome. One of the nicest KB-1s around that's for sure.

I have a 1942 IHC 1/2 ton 4X4 USMC frontline ambulance that has the 233" Green Diamond engine. It is, however, based on the K3 running gear.

Thats a nice IHC. Sure its not a 1947? It has the 47-49 stainless grill. Hope mine looks as good when its painted. The KBs have great style.

Could be... The documentation he has is conflicting. It is tagged as a '46 but there are a couple things that state '47.

That is one sweet looking ride. I am in the process of working on kb1 that I just picked up. It's my first restoration attempt, but so far I have been pretty lucky with obtaining some of the harder to find cosmetic pieces, being there are a lot of them out here on the west coast. Nothing rots out here haha. It currently has a straight 6 chevy motor in it, and they had to cut part of the fire wall to make it fit....any suggestions on what I should do? Should I yank the straight 6 out and go with a side by side 6? Or just custom weld the fire wall to enclose the engine compartment and leave the straight 6? Seeing how sweet your restoration came out, I thought I might ask.
