I've got a friend here that's been trying to sell a '66 Belair for 16k for about two years. I don't know if that helps you at all, but the two cars appear to be in similar condition.

I don't know what its worth, but the fuel injection isn't a plus to me.

Post a pic of the car you're wanting to trade.

I'd bump it up to 1237.50....probably a little more info...but it look like it's probably a 5K-10K car. It's really a nice body style. I like the 2 door sedan cars.

If you and the guy you are dealing with are comfortable with doing a trade, why the hell are you asking US? Just do it, already!

the guy is looking for 7k out of this, I really don't think is worth that much but who am I to judge , I do like it thou ofcourse it would be a done deal if it was an Impala ... the Impala has more slicker or slant back right ?

    7500.00 tops....

Id try for 6000.00 and get rid of that motor. Find a 427 or 396 for the car and hide the motor with a dual snorkle air cleaner.

I wouldnt pay more than 6 for it, but, my heart isnt set on a mid 60's biscayne, impala, or belair....

Look closely where the back and front windows are seated....those cars hide rust under the gl*** very well....

Im ***uming the car was an original 283 car without ac from your pic.

If you do buy the car, first thing to do right off the bat is change the brake resevoir to a dual res.

You'll def get opinions and prices over the map with that description and pics though...what kind of rearend? Is the car an original FLA car, etc? all those add up....

What would you feel comfortable paying for it if you were buying it for cash? Thats what it's worth ...................TO YOU!!!! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks..........does it? Isn't that the bottom line?

Other than that I suggest you go and ask your mommy. She used to make all of your decisions before you could think for yourself. Her wisdom got you this far I suspect she can see you through this one.

Sign in on ebay and do a search for the year/make/etc. of whay you're looking for. Over on the left side of the screen halfway down click on "completed listings". That'll let you know what people are willing to pay at that time for whatever you're looking for.
My opinion, I'd value it the same as the four door in your avi.

I sold my '65 Biscayne for $22K, but it had a dual quad 454 and a Richmond 6 speed.

Hmmm Patrick gave you his opinion, I better tread lightly here....

You say he wants to trade, then you say he wants $$$$... which is it (so we can give you a comparo opinion...)

Looks like a nice car and if you are a long haul driver the EFI is nice to have. But it seems to me that if you have to ask our opinions then you aren't sure so if I were you I would't go for it.

I paid $8k for mine about five years ago. Original paint, 350 with a Muncie 4-speed...

    Attached Files:

  23. 5k max. unless you feel it's worth more to you. I personally wouldn't pay more than 5k, the FI engine is nothing but a paperweight in my opinion. I would get a 283 in that quick fast and sell off the FI if you can, or better yet get him to pull it... buy the shell "sans" engine.

    Cheers,

When things are a trade and cash the lines blur, Remeber you make the money when you buy the car not when you sell it.

The reason he is trading because he can't sell it!

    I Like it OK ,

would be better with a four speed.

I would think about 5k would be a good price.......

Seven grand seems a bit much in this economy. A TPI don't mean anything either. Those motors are just about as boring as LS1s anymore.

  28. Sure, the motor's boring. Boringly reliable and quite powerful enough for a driver. Depends on what you are looking for in a car. You want something to show, or something to drive?? That one's a driver.

So call the motor a wash - be glad it's got one. Then figure price from that.
