Hey guys, Im so glad I was able to find this board! Im in love with the kustom kulture of the 50s and 60s, and actually, I tried to start a forum just like this a while ago, but it failed . Anyway, Im Tim, and im 17. I have been pinstriping for about 2 years, and Im getting better! I have my own business called "Bad Ace Design", and have done a couple jobs. Here's some of my work, so you can judge me A lot of it is on my 95 Cavalier, and my Dads 47 Studebaker. (Sorry to the 56kers!) Hope to learn a lot here!
looks damn nice to me!! keep em comin. if yer that good now the sky is the limit. where are you located??? checkout the "friday artshow" post every friday (sometimes thursday cause the guys get too anxious ). you'll love it. welcome
Weeeeell Tim, not filling out your profile will definitely keep you a stranger to all of us... You've got some nice work there...and some HAMBer may like you to do some for them...but without knowing where you are...well, you know, not a wise way to market your stuff. Don't really care for your Cav...but let's see some pix of that Stude...got a lot of Stude lovers on this board... Welcome... R-
Nice clean stripin', Welcome!! I really like the first photo, cool design. I 'try' to pinstripe on occation but wouldn't call myself a pinstriper just yet. Be sure to check out the friday art post for some KILLER striping and other art by some of the PROS on here. Josh
Didnt even see the profile section, but its filled out now Thanks for the welcome! Heres some more pics of my dads truck if your interested. He always tries to do something new and different with it, and hes taught me pretty much everything I know about everything car related. Except pinstriping, I taught myself that...(hes not very good at it ) http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/559749/5
If you and he are in Centennial, CO, why is it that we don't see that Stude at cruises and rod runs? R-
We usually make 5-10 a year. Dont get out to Aurora much though. Do you go to the Crown Lanes cruise night, or the Rocky Mtn Natls in Pueblo? We are always at those shows.
Great job man. Don't listen to 40 stude, he's just another colorado wingnut. (Haw!) I'm from aurora, in greeley now. Good to see that someone close to my age is really into this stuff. -Crew
Dosn't matter to me if it's on a cavalier or not.... THAT is some damn nice work you did..and do! Keep it up, and post pics when ya do. Welcome to the HAMB.. Tony.
[ QUOTE ] Dont get out to Aurora much though. Do you go to the Crown Lanes cruise night, or the Rocky Mtn Natls in Pueblo? [/ QUOTE ] Aurora has a cruise nite, Fridays, at Seven Hills shopping center, daylite savings beginning to daylight savings end...get a lot of cars out there. Yep, was at both events and Crown Lanes two times this year, as well as GoodGuy's, don't recall seeing that truk at either...I've got a '40 Stude coop, Lime Green with Turquoise scallops as well as a radical chopped '57 Chevy...my bro drives a Turquoise '54 Caddy or a '64 SS...remember seeing any of those? Oh yeah, don't pay no nevermind to CrewCutKid ...he don't know what Studebakers are!!! R-
40StudeDude, my dad knows you. Roger, right? My dad is Tim Graham, he drove to the Street Machine Nationals with you in the late 70's, in your 57 Chevy. He says the steering broke in Iowa. Ring any bells? And, ya, I have seen your car. I had my Cavy at the last Crown Lanes too, I dont know if you remember seeing it though.
Damn, I didn't even know Tim had a son...especially of driving age!!! Yeah, that's me...Now, go find Ryan's post, on page 9, about my new book...that story is in the book...as well as 25 others...all about my wild days back in Iowa...buy it for him for a Christmas present... Nope, usually don't look at late model stuff at those cruises...and now that you say the truk is your Dad's, yeah, that looks like Tim's style!!! R- Hey Crew Cut...that should be Stude-A What?
Ill have to check that book out. I thought I would post some of my other work if anyones interested: I use pen and ink, and pencil most often, but Im trying my best to expand into marker and pastel renderings too. (My attempt at a Roth style cartoon, never finished it) A sketch in Western Civ. Please forgive the lack of suspension components ) Im sorry I dont have any of my rat rod/hot rod stuff scanned yet. Ill try to get some asap.
Great work, kid; I wish I had someone pushing me with my art at your age. You found a great place to get ideas, tips, and history ps-I sold my '98 Cav z-24 for a '62 Impala- it can be done!
Hey KustmAce, are you the same guy that was at Bo Huff's, (Utah), this past summer that was striping?
00 Mack- I appreciate that! I hope so too JeepersCreepers- Im tossing around the idea lately of selling the Cavy and buying an early 50's/late 40's coupe and slamming it. But, I need some money first... Rat_Rodder- I resent that...Tell me, what is so "ricey" about my car, or me? And Ham and Hooligan- No, I havent striped publically yet, not to mention I have never been to Utah Actually, I did a little bit of striping at the Pueblo show this year, but only for like an hour. To everyone else who has replied- Thanks for the welcome! This place seems a whole lot friendlier than a couple forums I am a member on.
Very nice work. By all means, check out (and contribute) to the Friday Art Show. You pencil work is great as well. Lots of artsy types here, you'll like it. Welcome from Oklahoma. George
Nope, no Buick, only the Cavy, but thats GM, so it counts right? And I dont know why the pics are x's. There working for me. CarDomain may be down.
Welcome Ace. Your doing some Damn Fine Pinstriping. And don't listen to anyone who wants to suggest otherwise. Some of the other Pinstripers here also frequent : http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/pinstriperspage/ A very civilized crowd there. Well, usually.
