I am sorry to say KS p***ed last night at 11PM... UPDATE, The services will be in Mineral Wells, Texas. 11:00AM Wednesday February 10 Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home 302 W. Hubbard
I have a picture of him signing an autograph for me when I was 8 or 10 years old. The picture he signed is on my wall still to this day! RIP
I wasn't a big drag racing fan when I was younger... but my son who was five went nuts over the bright red Willys as soon as he saw it... KS scooped up my son and showed him an up close view and put him on his knee for a photo... the following year my son couldn't wait for another chance to see the Willys again and KS remembered him... after spending some time with my son KS asked if I had brought a camera and when he found out I hadn't he asked his wife to go get thiers and a month later we recieved a letter telling how everything was going and the picture... A great guy that will be missed on and off the track!
****, such a gentle man had many a talk with him at the gg early indy in stageing and in the pits what a great guy always made the time said he had a soft spot for my packard I told him that was a honor god speed my friend ......
Odd, last night I was reading a story in Rod & Kulture Ill. about K.S Pitman and his life of racing and minutes before I read this my new g***er book from Barnes and Noble arrived as I am doing research to build a '42 Chevy Coupe as a g***er. A huge force in the world of g***ers will be missed, RIP...........
