I thought I would share some pics my dad gave me of his roadster back in the day. These pics were taken in 62 and 63. He told me he paid 75 dollars for the car in 62, enjoy.

Well sort of he has a 49 Pontiac Woody and a 50 f-1 that he has had for about 30 years. The roadster he said got sold after a couple of years because he doubled his money a got a whopping 150 for it. Makes me wanta cry.

I was just going to comment on the parking brake but see someone beat me to it. It's exactly like the one I had for my '29 coupe in high school. I thought mine was unique but from the pictures I'm thinking the guy that sold it to me was really pulling one on me. [IMG] [IMG]

Nice pitchers, thanx for sharing. Do you think it's a indicator of how flexible an A frame is, the way it looks twisted in that snap with the flat??
    Mart.
PS had a play with one of the pics.

uh, what's the deal with the suit and the flat? Sounds like an interesting story behind that photo.

Kinda makes you wonder if the bride's waiting at the church doesn't it.

That pic is a good example of why Boyd wanted Blue Bear to box his frame. Picture that flat as a blowout at 75 on the inside lane of the freeway. With the tire shredding and bouncing and the frame twisting, how much steering do you think you'll have with the steering linkage binding and the one good tire hopping around as the frame jumps up and down? Sometimes it's better to learn from your parents than to copy them. [IMG]

Like father like son, make sure you keep plenty of pics of your roadster on hand for your boy to post here in another 40 years! Here's a pic of your car that I pirated right here off the HAMB! Looks like your dad did his part, now its your turn!

Hey Duece thanks for sharing the pics.

He didn't even need a grille shell - it is amazing the prices they paid for cars and parts back then. 75 bucks used to be a lot of money.

Does your dad know he had a cut off coupe, and not a real roadster?

I sure hope to p*** it on, only I want to leave him my roadster in stead of selling it. I already talk about building him a rod but my wife gets on me and says he might not even want one or have anything to do with hot rods but I'm gonna do my part to steer him. But he is only four but I have grand plans for him ha ha.
