well - I am hoping to get a certain person to help out with getting the car up here right after the KC world of wheels........we will see if it pans out.

If not then I may be posting on here asking for help getting it up to Iowa.

Thanks again for all the help and yes - Mr Oliver is correct......when Dave called me to tell me to be sure to check out Youtube when I got home.........I have to admit I was REALLLLLLY excited.
I have been emailing the link to a lot of people......not sure if they are looking.......but it is great seeing the thing running. Thanks to the Punk Rods once again.

Hey Groucho - I have not even seen the car yet in person - but I will post a lot of pix once I get my camera around the car!

I will need help with ID things like guages and any aftermarket parts that are gonna be on there..................

I will be in KC in 2 weeks-cant wait

  7. I have a couple crappy shots of the 50-51 Pontiuac cluster I put in a Deuce, and they really look the same. On the Lime-green Pinkee built Sedan that's in the new R&C, they show the same stuff, but upside down in their car, but say it's from a 49 Pontiac. So, take a look at those too, and I'll give you my pics when you get the car, OK? Or gimme an Email addy and I'll send them sooner

YEP, 'struggle-buggy-ramptruck' with three perps out in below freezting weather---
officer obie--- had himself a real money making 'stop'! it is ruff to be stopped when you are 'at-fault', even ruffer when you are stopped by a cop who is on a 'fishing expedition'!
i mean you guys fit the HOMELAND SECURITY terrorist profile,100%!

too bad you guys did not have your electronics working, so the interaction between the officer and yourselves was replay capable! i would like to see and hear the dashcam recording! BTW WAS THIS A COUNTY SHERIFF or A CITY COP? at this point who cares,
    but was just curious.

SERIOUSLY, glad you guys got off, loaded and home safely!

Funny, Dave being a Pontiac owner noticed them right away.back when we first looked at it. The other aftermarket piece was that hood moulding. I think it was to close off the side hood vents for heat in the wintertime. Only one but would look killer with a set John. It's your car, your plan, but before any decisions, you gotta see it for yourself.
The video COS did of it running this last sunday was also to show you that when Dave took it out for a spin, the fuel pump looked like a commercial fire water sprinkler leaking gas everywhere. But with a little diggin behind the front seat was another fuel pump! Looked it over and put it on and away she went again (leaking one less fluid).

I am not a fan of the aftermarket molding on the side - looks kinda cheezy to me.....
but perhaps I will change my mind when I see it in person -
I did not even know about the other fuel pump!

man - you guys are amazin

    so.......
I guess they are Pontiac guages......
    cool

I will have to redo the top - but mechanicals first.

  11. john you had better get here quick ! the car is growing on me !, went to the shop tonight and got in it and pumped the gas twice and hit the switch and it fired up on the third revolution and runs like a top!, got hooked up to a lawnmower gas tank for now untill i check the tank and lines for leaks with air before i dump a couple of gallons of gas in it , ( thats why i have the hood off in the videos ) needs the 94 carb rebuilt, have a later model one of mine on there for now , needs water pump gaskets , but they can be made out of sheet gasket material pretty easy, rest of mechanicals can be done easily also ( wiring, adjusting, gaskets , lubing , ect..) but at least it is for sure a RUNNING, DRIVING original car!!!!!, i am willing to help out with anything you want to do to it when you get down here in a couple of weeks until then the ol girl is sitting down at the shop getting drooled over by all the guys in the club , i think i was just as excited when i called you about the thing running the other night! see you soon !

  12. Just a little update on this car. Me and Super Dave ran to KC and met up the Los Punk Rods crew and picked up John's coupe. We have it safely in Des Moines here at the time. Slowly but surely getting closer to Johns garage! Man does that motor sound good for not running that many years!

Bruce and Dave, Oh and also to "Punk", Glad to meet you guys and see that you made it back to Des Moines safe and sound. We were starting to get a little attached to that Ford, but glad to see that it is making it's way back to it's new home at John's.
So how many stares or offers did you get on the 3 hour road trip back to IA?? Ha ha

  16. Lot's of older people checking it out! Everything worked great getting home. The old girl even fired right up when it was time to get her off the trailer. Good meeting all you guys!!
