Ok so maybe this is a dumb question, but how do the spider caps work for the front wheel? I have a '53 bel air with beauty rings, and I thought that some spider caps might really set the wheels off even more. I am confused tho on how the front fit because where the wheel bearing sits under the dust cover is where the point of the spider cap would sit. I have attached a picture of the wheel below. Does the spider cap go over the dust cap, or what? I am confused. Thanks guys sorry if this is a dumb question.

I've never had any, but I think they bolt on the outside of the wheel under the lug nuts.
I think it'd look better with a chrome dust cap, but that's just me.

If that's the case, then how do they go on the back wheels where there isn't the wheel bearing housing sticking out of the wheel. I guess I'll just call a tech at the wheel place.

Anyone know the cheapest place to get the spider caps? Alliance vendor?

No but I see them now. I actually bought my lowering blocks from them. Very happy with the speed of delivery and service.

There is a thin metal attachment piece to fasten the spider to the wheel. You can't see much of it when the spider is attached. It is sort-of star shaped -- has a hole at each point for the lugs, and a big hole in the center for the hub.

You mount the wheel, slip the attachment piece over the lugs and hub. Then screw in the lug nuts. Last, you slip the spider over the hub and lug nuts and screw it to the attachment piece. Do it three more times, and you are done!

The Hot Rod Company has them for $180.95. They give 5% off and free shipping to Alliance Members. I don't think you can beat that? Give them a try.
