You know I still have a scar from that! For the record, never attempt jumping a 50CC dirt bike with no brakes on a ramp made from 6 stacked tires and a piece of plywood in an industrial parking lot after 20 beers in the dark! Actually, I made the jump just fine but Johnny Deacons wagon seemed to jump right out in front of me It's cool though because I limped up to the grill and made a bunch of food for some hungry party-goers right afterwards. Either I was that tough, that drunk or both!
Not sure... a few of us were talking bout driving out for Bonneville, maybe leave cars for La roadster show... but not sure with having a kid coming as well. We'll see if the old lady turns me loose or if I can stand to be away. Might dampen my usual travels. Was going to make a run soon out there and still might. Roy is on his way to Burbank soon to pick up my 21, and parts I bought at last years LARS... but I have to go seal a deal on some parts and hope to say hello to all you guys... won't have much time though. Got a full plate at home. Say hello to Dode! See you out there... Joe, did a killer job man! Keep this one! I'm piecing together a 29 roadster, race car I think... bummed I had to get rid of my A bone Phaeton... but I had to make room over here, I have three 4 car garages full, only one is mine. I'm sick! More pics Joe, more pics!
damnit joe your picture taking is on par with ray charles. get that thing out of the shadows, and get some profile shots. i guess i missed you by a few minutes yesterday, but got to listen to mikey about how well it ended up coming out. oh yeah s.d. joe my mini bike experience happended at the midnight return road mini bike races at the hot rod reunion a few years back, something got stuck in the front end of that thing and locked up the wheel. that little death trap was stupid fast and i ended up doing an ass over head deal at about 25 but my leg got into that open clutch. it sucked but chicks dig scars, or at least they used to now they say what the fuck is wrong with the back of you leg. glad joe got to experience a special moment on it as well
HaHaHa! Your right Justin, I suck at picture taking! Just realized that they are pretty much the same shots as the earlier garage photos. Although, note the cool Lifters plaque and cool patina'd chrome rear end. Oh well, work starts back up tomorrow so I'll shoot for next weekend... ...LAME!!!
Big thanks to Jill and Dave for snapping these pics yesterday. Dave Iversen is the guy that installed the patch panels (Including some hand made pieces) and shimmed the body onto the frame. He also finish-welded the home made headers for Mikey. His work is really amazing and I want to give his shop a quick plug so check the link below You'll notice the absence of bondo or filler... ...He's actually that good! http://www.iversenoriginals.com/
Thanks to everyone that came up and said hi at the GNRS. I'm a little disappointed that none of the pic threads had shots of our cars. Oh well, we had one hell of a party at our spot!
nice work!! it makes me want to get started on chassis work. At least now im almost done with the body work
We sure did John! Ahhh, just a bunch of haters They were probably bitter at our endless supply of beer while they drank $11 cup-worths. No love for The Lifters CC I guess... ...HaHaHa!!! Like we care!!!
