Yep. And how many things that you can't do are popular with you, if you have to attempt it? And honestly,l like to look at those paint jobs, but I can't see myself driving it, or paying for it.

Needs original '58 side trim, Bel Air or Biscayne.

I like the scallop treatment 1-shot did...that one wouldn't be hard to pull off in a garage with a harbor freight spray gun...!!!

(And I'm partial to the blue with blue flames as well...!!!)

Dude the 58's look best with whatever you like on it. If you can paint the flames then you can do the scallops alot easier. If it were mine I would run it straight up paint first for a while then upgrade the paint later by adding the scallops to kinda update the car after you had it a while.

Wheels you should run Supremes, Tru-spoke's, Crager's, or stock hupcaps. IMHO the fenton slots will look out of place on a 58.

It is your car so do what you want but drive the **** out of it because its one of the coolest bodies Chevy ever did.

I'm surprised that I'm one of the few that liked the flames! Looks like a big Hot Wheels car.

And I want to know who voted to leave it like it is?!

IMO hillbilly = flames, too many stripes = mexican, whatever you want = priceless. If it were me I like having it looking stock, or some color that you like... I am partial to dark blue... too many stripes/colors just looks bad... like I said... its your opinion, whatever you are into, then that is what it is.

No#2..............Lower it, lower it alot...........keep the 5 spokes or on a budget paint the steeles black and use some pinner whites...............the white scallops look good from one shot but forget the flames, if flames are a must just set it on fire!!!!!!!!!

Just the wheel change makes a big difference,
    but lowering always helps.
    I like the scalloped photoshop.
The flames are ok but they're just too flashy.

just my 2cents here.great ride. i would accent the long low lines with a two tone paint . the traditional flames are too over done any more. either way do it the way you want and enjoy it

The car has such nice lines to it that flames or scallops would ruin it for me. Maybe some Belair trim on the side, chrome reverse wheels and a little rake to it. That's all it needs to be just *****in IMHO.

Scallops / dumped / chrome rims - painted centres and... get some Lace work in the Scalloped panels.. I'm thinking some lace over flake on my '36.. just on the roof.. No. 1 son reckons it'ud be trick for his Valiant ( dart) coupe

Wayne, That was great info on the Jag rear. I'm looking for one now!

Guys, thanks for all the advice so far. I see my flame vote is falling further behind fast!

So what about louvers on the hood for this car? Yea or nea?

No flames...light scallops with the astros/this white wall or wire wheels/thin white wall or some hub caps with wide white....flames on that car say "LOOK AT ME"...... either way its still your car and it seems your pretty set on it. Listen to your wife though hahah

I vote for #2, but I also think stock height with # 2's wheels would be fine. It's too easy to overdue the flames and trim. I like them simple, but that's a great car.

  21. I voted for the simply lowered version, but this is THE ****.
Just search Larry Watson, anything he did will be right at home on that thing.
    Doc.

I like the look of the scallops rather than flames on this body, but you should really do which ever you prefer because you are the one that's going to look at it every time you walk out the door. I have had a few wildly painted cars and the one thing I found is after 8mos to 2 yrs I wanted a change, where as my single colored cars I seemed to tolerate longer
