The entire show was fantastic - the Suede Palace and the Race Car Exhibit were the most fantasticest part of it. Thanks for putting it all together for us to enjoy. vic

Axle I cant thank you, Kevan, And the rest of The Shifters enough for the award. I was completely blown away when you guys called my name. I too was telling my friend when it got close to the end maybe we should go and he kept telling me to stay and wait it out. It was definately worth the wait. When I got up there to except the award I was just dumbfounded and got choked up and didnt know what to say. Thanks amillion for this. It is really something to be honored by a club like The Shifters. This is the first time Ive had it out since the build was completed. It was also special for my guy who put my dreams to metal (Jessie Borkowski). He put up with my pickyness for 8 months on this car and he really did an outstanding job. You guys put on a spectacular show and the race car building was amazing. The sound in there sometimes would give you goosebumps. It was really cool to see the Navaro hot rod in person.
The weekend was great all the cars and on Saturday the Drive in was amazing. I had so much fun.
I thought there was some high quality cars in the suede palace this year and the hot rod display accross from where my car was really neat. Those roadsters were so nice. It was also nice meeting Rudy with the Maroon hot rod accross from me.
Thanks again to The Shirters for bestowing this Honor on me.

Thanks for the excellent show. My legs are still recovering from walking around about 12 hours on Saturday (but it was really worth it) :)

Thanks for the Race Car building. We busted *** to make sure the car got there. It was a bare frame the wednesday the week before the show!
A lot of people were really suprized to see the car and said it brought back many memories, including Jay Lindsley, the origianl owner / drive who hadn't seen it since 1972!

Thank you Axle, Celeste, the Shifters & Everyone who was involved in the Suede Palace this year. Move in day went so smooth & alot less stressful than last years move in day for sure. Thanks again Axle for inviting my Coupe to be in the Suede Palace this year. Hung out & met some real good people this past weekend. Thank you.

Thank you GEARHEADS car club of Glendale for picking my Coupe for your club pick in the Suede Palace. I didn't hear my name called til EVEL said "they called your name" sorry for not thanking your club on stage. The tequilla shots I was drinking w/ the BEAN BANDITS just kicked in at that part. The GEARHEADS gave me this Tiki that was carved by TIKI DIABLO a GEARHEADS car club member

    Thank you,
    -RUDI/RUDOG

Axle, Thanks for the great show. We drove 14 hours and hauled that tiki tub out there and had a great time. Hope we can get together again and bring some more cars next year.

Rudi, i think that bottle of Tequila was emptied within 15 minutes of Tom Branch winning that ****er. Ha ha ha ha.

  17. Axle, Thanks for including the Cotton Chopper and push car in the show, we had a great time. On Saturday 79 year old Chuck Mc Gaughy the builder in 1953 and original driver and his wife of 50 years drove up from Ramona to see the display, he was very thrilled and they were both deeply touched to have the car honored in this way. I took several pics. of Chuck back in the seat after 55 years, that was very cool.
Tracy put in a lot of work re***embling the car ( not restored) and seeing Chucks face I know made it all worth it. Thanks again Axle you did a good thing for many old timers and a bunch of young guys... Also thanks to John Buck and Jim Palmer those guys are gold...

Both buildings were absolutely fantastic! As much walking as I did that day, I had to review both the Suede Palace and History of Racing buildings twice.

Billy and I were bummed not to be able to participate in the Suede Palace this year.

Thanks for all your hard work. It really did shine!

Axle Thanks! for the great display of Rods what an awsome experiance it was walking into the History of Race cars bldg I was in awe! the whole time especially when the wife and I walked up on "The Bug" lol! I recently was showing her some pics on the Hamb of it on the track racing and were amazed that the driver was racing with no shirt on and no roll cage or protection at all lol! I guess they werent to strict back then. anyway! what an awsome display in the suede palace as well thanks those two bldgs made the show for me!! :D

  22. Axel, I was dubious that, once we were all in the "History of Racing" barn, that we'd be able to clear out, in a timely fashion. But, thanks to your organization and the cooperation of your crew, it apparently was done. I didn't see much, however. At the stroke of eight p.m., I fired up, drove through a side door, went up to Lot F (much to the amu*****t of onlookers), ran up onto the trailer; and was outa there. Thanks, for putting on a fiine and valuable show!
