I have a Buick 1953 2 door hardtop, and as you all know they are very Beautiful.....
But with some help from someone with photoshop skills, maybe it will turn to a good looking kustom.
The front and side is nice.......but the rear isn´t, not in my eyes.
I need some inspiration on this car.

Here is some pics I found on internet. (my car is disassambled right now).

    Thanks! // Roger.

Looks gorgeous to me - but I had a '52 so I'm a bit biased...

Man, I feel so bad for you, stuck with that ugly car...tell you what I'm gonna do, goes against my nature, but I'm gonna be altruistic here and take that car off your hands for you, I won't even charge you for hauling it off.

Ugly? hardly, but if you moved the portholes under the chrome strip and chopped the top 2 inches or so in the rear and laid the back window forward a bit and added some cruiser skirts it could be awesome

    (sorry no photoshop skills)

    That thing is B-yooo-tiful.

If you made that thing into a Pro-Street you'd deserve a beating with a rusty tire iron and a bag of nickles....

I'd give it some new tires and wheel and put a done stamp on it.

Paint it a pastel color with some purple splash drops and Coddington wheels.

Damnit, that is an excellent idea. I wish I would have thought of it.

However you did forget shaving all trim & chrome.

    Hey dudes!
okey, maybe "ugly" is to hard for you to hear, but look at thoose taillights and bumper for example......the designer team must have had a real hangover that day......

what you do if you make an existing car into a custom is take a great car and make it greater. if you start with an ugly (grrrr) car, you simply have the wrong project. sell it to someone who actually likes it, and buy parts for your ford!

Oh boy, I see all shaved and smoothed coming with mid 90's cadillac taillights and body colored molded bumpers. Please Please Please, leave it alone. You have a gorgeous car and take a poll or something before you do something you will regret. What an immaculate car to ruin.

After viewing these fine 1953 designs from Sweden I totally understand your plight ... perhaps just sell it to one without the discerning eye for style that you have...:D

Ugly? - That car is beautiful!
Put some Lancer hubcaps on it and call it done!

  20. the only thing that catches my eye that is funny looking are the tail lights.. I like the idea of caddy tail lights but then it would look too modern for the rest of the car.. some 1 piece tail light would look good on that i think.. everything else looks great to me.

How in the hell is a 53 Buick ugly?

    Here's a photoshop of a 53 convertible I did. Sectioned, Chopped, Dropped, Shaved, Decked...the whole 9...

    "Pro" WHO!!??
If You absolutely, positively must customize a ´53 "Bjuick", look up "John Bozio Buick", built in E Hartford, CT back in ´58 I believe, and nowadays in Sweden...One of the classiest looking customs ever, IMO.

I agree that the '53 Buick is by no means ugly. But if you want to change it up, maybe something more mild than wild. Keep the original lines, just play with the small stuff.

I think that maybe we should take this one seriously guys. If you really think that a '53 Buick 2Dr Ht is ugly, yet visualize violating it in a pro street fashion as possibly pleasing..............we need for you to contact as many of your family members and friends as possible and have them post to this thread immediately, so we can do all we can to organize an intervention. Remember, life doesn't have to be like this, and we are here to help you.

  30. Anybody else catch the part where he saud the pics are from the internet and his car was apart??? He isnt talking about cutting up that lil jewel in the pics...
