That looks awesome. that paintwork is spectacular! Are you going to put a few p***es on it after it is done????
Well they couldn't finish it today, so it looks like we will pick it up tomorrow in the early afternoon.
O.K. Here is my last post before the G.N.R.S. I am typing this as I get my bag ready to hit the road in 4 hrs. To everyone that followed this thread and is going to the show, please stop by and say Hi! See ya in Pomona!
Safe trip man, Post up some pictures of it at the show for those of us that are not going to be able to go.
Can't wait to see a pics of it out in the sunlight, that's going to be even more awesome. Nice job on the resto.
We haven't even seen it in the sunlight. We picked it up at night, we unloaded it at night at the G.N.R.S. I guess we're going to have to wait till Sunday after the show!
O.K. Here are the first pictures we have ever taken of the truck in the sunlight! We dropped it off at Galpin Auto Sports on Monday after the GNRS.
It's going to be on the COVER of The Rodder's Journal. And also, it's going to be shot for Hot Rod Deluxe!
O.K. So I saw the preview issue of The Rodder's Journal #48. It's got a 14 page spread on the restored truck. It also tells some of the early history as well as how it was found!
Just noticed that this one is currently up for sale: http://www.goodguyscl***ifieds.com/cl***ified/1725/1940_Willys_Overland_MURA_BROS.html
Violet Springs is right! This 1 coulda been real easily disfigured and lost forever if it was bought by somebody with a wallet that went deeper than his thoughts did. Thanx a bunch for taking the proper route with this one!
The only question was which paint job to give it for the restoration. Then, after looking at all the pictures, the decision was made for the "later" version. I think it was a wise decision.
Michael(the owner) just told me they want to shoot it for Hot Rod Deluxe this coming Monday. Hopefully it will make the cover!
