I'm still waiting on the banjo rear I'm going to use but I decided to get the spring, torque tube and wishbones in place for when I get it. Also a good time to bolt on my new wheels and tires to see the rake of the ch***is with the stepped rear and 3" drop up front. Needless to say, I love it especially the 3/4 shot from the right rear. Bolting the body on is the next step then I can do my steering so I can push this ****er into Autorama Detroit three weeks from tonight. I think I may push the headlights a little closer to the grille but I'll wait till the body is on and some space behind them is filled in. This is supposed to be a late 40's inspired build, what do you guys think so far?

My poor sedan had to sit outside in the snow while I worked on its new brother:(

  2. It looks great. Are you running full fenders or just aprons?

    Just the aprons.

  4. Kool, looks like a great start. Is the WB lengthened? What are you doing for rear perches? Good luck on the deadline, deadlines are good, I wish I had one. Jason...

No, its stock wheelbase. I decided to let the stock 32 wishbone determine where the K member would be located after I bolted the axle in the stock location. It (K member) ended up being 1.5" further back than the B&T book said to put it. I'm not 100% sure so nothing is welded in place but the motor looks like its where it should be. If it need to go forward a bit I can make a wishbone out of the model A/33-34 wishbones I have. I think the F1 Steering box and headers might have a clearance issue. But for now, this will get me to the show. I just used som P&J over the axle spring mounts and shackles out back.

Looking GOOD. I would agree on the light, they seem a bit to far out but I don't own the car so it just an opinion.
Is your ******* car or Andrea ride?(Sorry if got her name wrong or misspelled).

I didn't think you guys got snow on that side of the state:D.

Thanks, running just the aprons wasn't that uncommon back in the day. Guys would go run the dry lakes and take their fenders off but the aprons are bolted in and sandwiched between the body and ch***is so they'd leave them on then bolt the fenders back on for driving around town.

IMHO you have to do something to cover up the skinny model A ch***is on a hiboy or it makes the car look wobbly and top heavy. You can run your exhaust down there too to fill in the space. I like the look of the aprons and I'm not sure why more guys don't do it. Kris Elmer (Loudpedal) did it on his AV8 and that car couldn't be more perfect. I first saw a roaster with aprons in the Hop Up anual #5 in 2003 and fell in love with the look.

Hey lucky77 I know this is a little off subject but I saw there is a back to the bricks weekend show in flint. I'm in a car club in Toledo, Ohio called the Piston Jammers and we are marking a calendar now of all the events we want to go to. Are the nightmares part of this show? We would like to help out fellow hambers by attending and supporting our scene, if you could let me know thanks.

In case Scott didn't answer this I'll jump in. The Nightmares have supported BTTB since it began. We have club parking as do many of the area clubs. The Nightmares don't have a working role in the show however.
