Ok, I know its a bike. I snagged this pic from the Jockey Journal, the colors are PERFECT! I'll probably get smacked for it but oh well.
my buddy's Buick is inspiring! <TABLE cl***=tables cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0 valign="top"><TBODY id=main_posts_table><TR cl***=alternate_table_row id=tr_37482675><TD id=td1_26 vAlign=top noWrap align=left width="19%"></TD><TD id=td2_26 vAlign=top height="100%"><TABLE cl***=nested_invisible_table height="100%" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width="2%"></TD><TD></TD><TD align=right width="3%"></TD><TD width="3%"></TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=4><HR SIZE=1></TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=4 height="100%"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
In my experiance a darker flake over a lighter base will make it look muttled. You should get the base coat as close as possiable to the flake and go from there. Or you can do a black base if you want the color from the flake.
Good Point about the base colour. A white base with a gold or Silver flake over it can come out looking like a 60's Counter top. Your better off with a gold base or Yellow or cream. Do some experimenting and see what you get. To lose a little flake is better than having to redo the complete job. The Old Tinbasher
This is 08 gold holographic flake on a cream base. No motling, looks awesome. Mucho better in the flesh.
Yes! Amaverick that is what I was looking for!, anymore pics would be great! I wanna do this on my dash!
Check out the latest Ol'Skool Rods magazine. The feature "Golden Shower" is a pretty sweet flake job. I have no clue if it's based with gold or white but it is sweet.
