I am looking to buy a Edelbrock super 2x2 for my 59A. Is there a way to offset the generator and run the fan and everything with just one belt. I only have one pulley on the crank. Or do I have to find a double crank pulley?

Just build your brackets so everything is lined up.........you can use 2 pulleys but wheres the challenge in that?

This is how I did it with an alternator. Made a few brackets for just the alternator only which is the one shown on the motor.

Another alternative is to use carb spacers. It's tight, but I used a tall spacer to have the bowl clear above the alternator. Sorry, I don't have a picture to illustrate. I think it is a 6 inch spacer and I have about an inch and a 1/2 of adjustment. As I recall, I reworked the slingshot mount to get a little more available adjustment by grinding up the slider slot just a bit.

Don't know if you were getting a used manifold or a new one, but note that the new Super Duals are a copy of the race version and therefore have no front generator mount prevision on manifold itself. I bring this up because the bracket shown by BillM would require this mount.

The manifold I am looking at is an older one with the mount.

Sorry, not a good pic but I used a head mount to move the generator to the head. Mine was an old one but Speedway (and I'm sure others) still sell them. Still works with one belt, had to get a little longer one. It doesn't contact the water pump pully below it as much as I'd like but I haven't had any problems with it. Biggest h***le was reworking the upper radiator hose to clear the generator.

they make very nice cast aluminum brackets that bolt to the heads using extra long head bolts. i think they look great. PM me for pictures/ prices.

I have a simular request. I have an Edelbrock Suber Dual intake and I want to use a stock fan setup. Obviously the intake does not have the mount so, how is the done?? I would love to see some photos, links or manufacture info with part numbers.

    Thanks for you help

Its a bit hard to see, but I built that shiney bracket that holds the fan pulley. The shaft is out of a Generator, and I lengthened and machined it to take two bearings, and it then runs a standard pulley with a bolt on fan.It bolts to the fron four intake bolts, has little stands under it to sit it at the right level. I also built the offset Generator mount, but you can buy those if you want I beleive, i just find it easier to dig through the s**** bin and make stuff like that.
