A 1949 prefect followed me home this weekend. It is bone stock, runs ,and is really untouched ( as in ugly stock grill , and all) . ( no rust-):D;)Number 2 hole is week but it runs - does not smoke or knock though. Does anyone know much about this little flat motor. Any one make speed parts for it ??? Sorry had to ask. I know it is a bad idea ??????

If by Prefect you mean an English Ford Prefect then ya, there are lots of speed parts for that engine...... in the UK. That was a very popular engine and was used in a lot of specials. Maybe shoot a message to Metalshapes, I'm sure he could tell you more.

    Cheers,
    Kurt O.

  3. I have 4 of these cars in my sheds.
    No speed equipment though.
But a ton of other spares.

Finally found the "Message Board", you must have meant the "Hokey *** Message Board" No pics of the steering box there. Anyway if you get yo it, I may be interested.
I need something different for a early BELLY TANKER I am putting together.

  10. The prefect steering boxes are prone to breaking the mounting lugs off them, even with a standard 8hp engine.
Look for something a bit more up dated and stronger..
