You could always wack the roof off and replace it with a chopped Turnpike cruiser roof from a Merc, Radius the wheel wells, Scallop the body lines thin and long, shiny black base with scallops being big metal flake black.
I was stationed in Wichita in the early seventies...Eldon ***us had a mildly chopped candy red daily driver with radiused wheelwells....maybe he has a pic...I sure wish I did.
Longroof, go to the Kontinentals website and look at the roundup pictures. I think it was the second year there was a 64 that was purple with gold scallops. It was a nice car. That leetz car is really nice. Didn't do bad on his bride either. TP
Beautiful car. Radical solution with a subtle outcome: weld the rear doors closed and graft on the top from a '63-'65 Galaxie fastback. Lower it and keep the body completely stock, except for adjustments to the door handles and beltline trim. Do it with a model kit first.
That's a cool idea, but stretch the front doors when doing it. A same year Tbird door inner structure and door gl*** might work for this since they shared the same floor pan and cowl, and I think windshield.
would anyone photoshop a verson of mine with some different wheels and maybe lower it a bit? It's at the end of page three.
I am rather surprised nobody showed the one the ***us brothers built 5 or so years ago. never was too crazy about the paint (must be a witchita thing, no offense meant) but the chop is pretty cool...
then there is John D'agostinos connie "golden sunset" he did a year or so ago, again, not crazy for the paint, but love the grille
btw these wheels are 15" with 225 75r 15 one front coil cut small blocks out back filling the wheel wells nicely
Hey Ryan, Sounds like you have a nice ride. Personally, as an owner of a sixties Lincoln, they looked just fine out of the factory; bags are a cool idea, and I like the black paint job. Best looking color on these cars, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. If you have the sedan, do not remove the center post for the custom look; it is necessary with unitized construction for that size car. Mike
