I'm currently running some 14" S-10 steelies on the back with leaking 195 60's on them. Where can I find some 16" steel wheels with this bolt pattern? I have alot of '53 Chevy wheels, but I'm not sure if there 15's or 16's. Their the original style that came with the cars. What other vehicles came with steel wheels in this pattern and 16"?
heres what i would do that way you have a nice clean dent free rim just scuff the hell out of them and shoot. the best price is through jegs.com that i have found anyway http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...d=763256&itemId=1147105&langId=-1&showValue=1 scott
These guys have, can get or know about anything that has ever rolled under a car. http://www.stocktonwheel.com
Those guys are responsible for more horror stories than the Toyota recall. '53 Chevy car is 15 inch. I'd say look older, but 48 and back are six lug.
Some 50's International Harvaster trucks run a 16" with 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern. There a nice looking steelie that excepts a lot of different style center caps, but they're a little tough to find.
About the same price as a cheap mag at the local tire store http://www.rallyamerica.com/14-16series.html and you can get an Alliance discount.
I have been told that some 1949 to 1954 Chevrolet p***enger cars came with a optional 16 inch wheel. They would be the 5 on 4.75 wheel pattern. I know that Ford offered the 16 inch rims as a option along that time ... so it makes sense that Chevrolet would also. MIGHT be a little hard to find the 49/54 rims in a 16's for a Chevy now. Also some later model Camaros and Trans Ams have a 16 inch rim. Maybe the rim for the spare would be a 16 inch black rim ??? Corvettes also.
I've also got a '48 Oldsmobile and '53 Plymouth I can scavenge wheels off of. The reason I'm kinda intent on finding 16"s is because I have a stack Goodyears that are completly fine, but too little to run on our work truck, and aren't much of a mud tire either. Plus, I like the staggered wheel look however subtle.
find some mini spares from full-sized GM cars of the late 80's/early 90's. They have a four inch wheel in 16 inch diameter with a dual GM bolt pattern. As long as you are running the skinny tires you mentioned, like 6.10's and full wheel covers or trim rings and spiders, you are in business. Very easy to find and cheap at your local recycler. I like them for spares in my 50's vintage GM cars.
