Has any one ever tried to build a hot wheels car to life size. I'm thinking about giveing it a try and wanted to see if any one has done it before. I seen the black widow built by So-cal. Heres what i'm thinking about trying.
Conceptually....I could see it as a Death's Doorstep kinda balls out fast, '60's drag car. But like that....not feeling it.
Yep. There's a few of them. Twinmill,T-Bucket,Deora II Saw them at the HotWheel convention in Irvine a few years ago. These were both Hotwheels first before becoming lifesize.
Good point. Looking at the truck as being drivable I'm see BAD understeer. I should have checked with you guys before I put that V8 on a cub cudet mower. looked fun but was One hell of a ride.
A Cub Cadet?! Hahaha, NOW THAT would be awesome..........that particular Hotwheels, not so much. Can we pick another Hotwheels?
Other hot wheels are up for the build. I just picked this one up while at the store. These ideals hit and then I start looking for parts.
pittsburgholdschooler<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_4875524", true); </SCRIPT> And they called my ideal "a Death's Doorstep". Thats one cool machine!!
Yeah, way back when I was a little rodder, my mom bought me that dual kit from ANT that had the Koach and Dragula in it...I built the Dragula first, held it up, and said "someday I'm gonna drive one like this..." fast forward to '89, A local speed shop was putting on a show on Halloween weekend, one cl*** was "most outrageous"....we had just over a month to build it, but we pulled it off... after that, we kept updating and refining it...sold it in 2000 to a Fellow who goes by Maverick.. he takes good care of it, and I have first dibs if she comes back up for sale...
They didn't call your car a DEATH"S DOORSTEP........they referred to it as a DEATHS DOORSTEP type car, fast as hell! Meet DEATHS DOORSTEP:
DDS is one of my favorite hot rods ever. It does everything I'm afraid to do that might look wrong and nails it to look right. Way Cool. I cant wait to see it hit the track.
Doing it as we speak...sort of. When I was pre-license age, I built a Revell model of a fenderles 32 Ford roadster with a blown Hemi in it...
these are the veiws that i shot of DDS....and the reason it got it's name is very propper...it's one of those rods that the pics are mind bending...but if ya ever get a chance to walk up and look at it????well if ya do, hang on to your ***, cause it is very over powering in person....Hot Wheels type build???yeah, it would be way up at the top of the list...and Dave is one serious *** guy when it comes to building a rod.....
That is one of my favorite casting EVER! I didn't know someone built a lifesized version of it! Tell me the body flips up too! Here is "Whattadrag"
Thirtyfivepickup- Thats so cool' I've had that hotwheels for about 6 or 7 years wanting to build it. Were did you fin those pics. I would love to go see it in person.
The Mid Mill, the first car in question would need a very large engine to have the same proportion as the Hot wheels car, An engine like an Allison tank engine or something just as large, the cab does look like a 32-34 Ford pickup. Also note that HW **L wheels would be about 30 something inches tall.
