I think it's bad*** too. I'll be real surprised if he gets that kinda money for it all the way up in Montana though. It's killer that these cars are still out there. I like the look of this one alot.

Only thing is it does not have a 53 top. That is the orig. 51 top. It's been chopped. All 51 vicky's were convt's in disguise.Neat car though.Looks like it has 53 tailights.

TP, the only thing is, the car is a 49, not a 51 victoria...you can tell by the grille bullet "hump" in the hood pan behind the grille shell..it might be a 51 top though, i think the tops on hardtops were the same through 54...bob

The top is the same style, but I really doubt it is the same shape and width as the 52-54 Fords. Those taillights look like Pontiacs too.

I like the style of the round tail lights. It is a wonder this isn't done more often on shoe box Fords ( or spinners, as we Aussies call them) Geoff aka Whodaky

In all seriousness, it looks like a pretty easy project in the grand scheme of things. The hard work is already done. The vent windows need to be reworked, they look kinda silly. Bad *** car though, no doubt.

Neat car..but his starting price is WAY too high unless this thing's got some history, I don't think he'll get that kind of dough...time will tell!

Gas cap in the quarter makes it a 49.

    That car rules.

'51 through '54 Victoria hardtops used the same tooling, although the front edge was changed in '52 when the curved windshield replaced the 2-piece.

The rear window is not a '51 or '52, as they were both 3-piece gl***. It's most likely a '53 like the ad says.

  27. I like the rear treatment. Pontiac bumper and lights? '55?

I remember seeing that thing on the bay back then. If that thing doesn't have some magazine coverage somewhere in it's past, I would be amazed. Very well porportioned, and clean. Looks like it definately built by someone with a good eye.
IIRC, the shoeboxes of Jr. Conway, and LeRoy Goullart both ended up in the Idaho/Montana area before they were lost. Maybe there's a "bremuda triangle" of lost customs in that region.......

It currently belongs to a guy that I used to work for in Seattle.
Those are my flickr pics when it was delivered to him. He bought it off a guy in Puyallup Wa. who picked it up in Montana. It was built by a couple of brothers in Wenatchee Wa. Don Varner pinstripe.
It has had some nose work and has been sandblasted. A little swiss cheesy but doable. Sits primer grey now.
