I have a 9 inch rear on my model A and am trying to run rear spoke wheels without going wider with spacers. Is there anyone who knows the smallest backing plate and brake drum that will fit on the 9 inch? thanks

I was hoping for a junk yard solution, but I will call those places Monday. Is there a website for M/T?

Check out Currie Ent. I bought a brake package for mt 27 that was reasonable.
If memory servs me right they had quite a few brake options for 9 inch Fords

  6. what spoke wheels? you will need REAL small drums to fit inside early ford wire wheels

What bearing size is the axle bearing if it's a small bearing housing you could use brakes off an early mustang with either an 8 or 9 inch rear I think they had 9 x 2 1/4 and 9 x1 3/4

Last time I checked SoCal offered a complete rear brake package. Might check with them for application. Highly unlikely that you will find a junk yard set that doesn't need everything replaced to bring up to usable standards

Don't know the year on the wheels. They are 16" spokes and it seems a drum a bit smaller then 10" diam would fit on the inside of the wheels.

the wheel is put onto the outside of the drum and uses a ring to support it since the juice drums do not have the flange as mechanical brake drums did.

Bob Wilson of Wilson welding is the guy! Spend a few extra dallors and do it right, everything he sells is ready to run! Just bolt it on and go!
