gday folks i found these pics in a rod and custom magazine tech article basicly im after these spacers for fitting my lincoln brakes to my model a in the article it says that mt car products supplyl the spacers with the kit but i got no reply from them i could make the spacers myself but thought i would see if i could find some for sale first have any of you found or made some here is a link to the tech article if anyone wants to see it http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/techarticles/135_0507_lincoln_brakes/index.html i have done a search for older posts but there is just to much info out there and i know you guys can help thanks in advance simon

m/t car products in currently in the process of selling their business. they no longer sell the spacers but they do sell lincoln backing plates specific to the early spindles. i believe they will bump the shock link. we have them available and in stock.
thanks doctorZ i have the backing plates and drums but dident know i needed the spacers till i got them here have looked on the speedway web sit and cant see anything ill send them a message to see if thay have them cheers
Cool to see that this has been done. I had no brakes for a 57 Old/Pont rear i got, made backing plate spacer to run the tri-5 brakes so i would not have to pay thru the nose for Old/Pont brakes.
i have already payed through the nose for these rear brakes for backing plates drums and shipping to australia $1300 and still cant fit them hahaaaa
Sorry to hear. I wasn't trying to be a smart ass, it was just cool to see that set up. I make alot of my own stuff and a lone wolf of sorts. Now that i have joined the HAMB its cool to see what ive been missing as to what other's are doing, past and present.
its all good johny i dident think you were being a smart ass or anything im a little pissed at myself for spending so much money on these brakes but i couldent find anything here in aus that would do i also do all my own work but the truth is i cant be botherd making these spacers but looks like im gona need to cheers
make sure they're the ones specific to model A spindles. most are standard 1940 ford style or standard lincoln style that will require the spacer. i can't imagine they would be that difficult to make, though.
i am proberbly gona have to bite the bullet and make them myself but im going to wait till im in the mood and right now im not in the mood hahaaa thanks all
I looked for those spacers when I did the juiced conversion on my A and couldn't find them. I just went with the reindexing the backing plate as shown on the tech pages here then got some 1/4" wheel spacers off ebay to space out the drum from the backing plate so I didn't have to machine anything and have been running them for 2 years now with no problems. Not sure if you wanted to keep the backing plate straight up for looks though. That is why I was looking for the adapters.

thank you grego31 for your input i know i wasent alone i have got some spacers that will be the right size between the drums and hubs but i was hoping to get the right ones i have fitted the backing plates for now but thought while im getting the drum spacers ill try and get the other spacers to and thank you uncle bob for the link but the adaptes thay sell i have and are for the front brakes its the backs im having trouble with cheers all
