I bought a bunch of "stuff" a few years ago at an estate sale. This rear seat backrest was part of the deal. It's in excellent condition, but I don't have a clue what it fits. The family couldn't remember which car it came from (the husband purchased and raced Olds, Pontiacs, and Chevys). But, the seat back may not be from one of his drag cars. Hopefully, one of you will recognize the upholstery pattern and know what it fits. The tape measure shown is placed along the top edge of this seat backrest. Earlier, I listed this item in the cl***ifieds but I never got a response to it's origin. I thank each of you that takes the time to try and help identify this item. I haven't a clue what it fits. 423-943-0195

Thank you, Rs2. If it fits the Pontiac Lemans, it should also fit the Chevelle, Skylark, and Cutl***. I appreciate your efforts.

The pattern does look like the pattern on some '68 LeMans buckets I just got. The key is the width, the narrower seat fits convertible only and is worth quite a bit more than the standard hardtop one, and a 4 door one is wider than hardtop and convertible, since hardtops have door panel extensions and 4 doors do not. I don't know the actual widths of each but it would be worth it to find out.

go to a "year one" catalog and match up the pattern. it's not chevy but looks to be GM.

Thanks, 55dude. The catalog is a good idea. If nothing else, it will confirm the brand. I'm hoping that someone reading this thread will have one of these mid-to-late 60's GM cars and be able to check the measurement against their rear seat. My measuring tape is placed along the very top of the seat. I appreciate everyone's time, effort, and ***istance in helping identify the seat.
