wow! That's bad new :( I always liked Johnny's input here and other forums.
I got quite a few helpful PMs from him over the years. He was a good and knowledgable friend, who I never had the opportunity to meet "in person".
A greaat loss to the forum......

    Godspeed, Johnny!

Johnny will be missed. He has sent me several blueprints of old race cars he has drawn for my collection. Like Mac said, another great guy I never met.:(

  5. Man what a sad note about SJFast, he was a good cyber friend.
always willing to share drawings and full of "been there" advice.
I sure will miss his presence on the Forums.

    RIP Johnny Fast.

    Dang..

RIP Johnny Fast. He was one of the first Open Wheelers I found on here lurking.

Always down for throwing good info our way.

Boy, old Karl sure did take a ride that day. I didn`t know Kunsman went over too. His looks tame compared to the #95.

Sorry to hear about Johnny Fast. Never got to meet him,but sounds like he was a great guy.

  14. A few months ago I made mention of a Ranger powred dirt track car built by Marv Faw in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1954. A gentleman from California responded that he knew Marv Faw very well and would attempt to find photos or information on that car but I never seen any more information. I just recently stumbled upon some 1950's IMCA dirt track sprint car videos. They can be seen by going to Hoseheads and clicking the 'home' name and scrolling down to Stan Meissners Minnesota Dirt Track Racing. On his site he has a '1950's IMCA sprint car video' button. There are 8 videos each about 2 minutes in length and were shot at Des Moines, St. Paul, Owatanna and maybe Huron,South Dakota. On the #7 video there is a very, very brief section of footage showing the cars being pushed off for the start and low and behold there is a roadster among the cars. It isn't a very long segment but it is the first dirt track roadster I have seen from the 1950's. The quality of the videos is questionable but I was able to identify the Honore #2, two of Diz Wilsons cars #71 and #70, the Tom Cherry yellow #38, the Lempelus #52 and the Slater #5. Can anybody identify that roadster as the Marv Faw built car?

Rabs-this is the kind of thing I live for!

    Thank you VERY much!

I can`t place the car or driver of #35.

Not sure who is in the Fray #1.

A young Jimmy Bryan in the #45.

There are guys on here who can make the IDs.
