I have been asked to find a replacement for this part. It's a fuel tank gauge from an '83 Rally car. The owner of the vehicle is trying to restore this car and would like to use parts as close to the original as possible.

    It's just a gravity/sight gauge...

    here are some photos

Any help or ideas offered on where to start searching would be helpful!!!
It's has no part number on the damn thing anywhere.

Yes, it was a real Rally car raced from 83 to maybe the 90's I am not sure the last day it saw a race. It was driven by Bruno Kribick (my spelling of his last name may be off...)...

  4. How about Lab equipment and food processing sources ? Google "sight gages"

Lab equipment may work but food processing would not because it's gotta be able to hold high octane fuels....

  6. Bruno Kreibich - I assume it was the Quattro then? Sorry I can't help on the part, but I did know and race against Bruno back then.

he started out in VW's (Karmen Ghia) then 911's before moving on to the Audi's.

I think he 83 car was a factory built car that either Michelle Mouton or John Buffum had previously run. The part probably came from Germany.

Yup your correct it's an Audi, and it wasn't either Mouton's nor Buffum's car but yeah...
I do think the part came from Germany not sure where or what source of manufacturer, thinking maybe that it was made for a Marine application originally but I am still searching.

I knew it was a long shot that anyone would know the exact part but I was hoping someone my know a race tank supplier that would make a similar part.
