I just found a 50 Pontiac in a salvage yard. This has to be the most complete car I have ever found in a yard. It has a straight 8 and every option you could think of. All of the trim is in the car along with a guide signal finder, fender skirts. It even has some of the original litature in the glove box. There is no bondo, just a few spots of surface rust. Would this car be worth grabbing for 500.00? I want to flip this car so I can have some cash to work on my truck with. Thanks Keith
If its a clean 2dr hardtop someone might pick it up for double your investment, post some pictures up of it and i'm sure you'll get alot of opinions... oh yeah, and alot of negative feedback too!, either way you'll be saving it from the crusher and selling it to someone who might restore it or make a neat custom. just my 2cents. -Anthony
Hell i would pick it up and keep it that is a good deal i think. And if you don't one day you are going to regret it and you'll have those fender skirts and body panels when your drinking a cold one or a soda... and damn then you will be mad at your self
Got this out of the Gold Book. It sure sounds good, but yeah, pictures would be nice. "Flip it" as in fix it up some, or what? It seems to me the worst you could do is resell it for $500. Thanks, Kurt
Is it because it doesn't say Chevrolet or Ford on the emblems that scares you from spending 500 bones? Pontiac's were a luxury car in their time..........I'd bet that car is worth more then the truck you're currently dumping money into now. Pics are worth a thousand words. If I had an empty stall, I'd be dragging home another Pontiac............no questions asked.
I'm sure you could part it out and make money at $500 if it's as solid as you say. Still better than crushing it.
I've sold rusty parts car's missing a lot of stuff before for close to that..so a complete car, a 50 Poncho at that, for 500?? GO GET IT before someone else does, or worse it get's s****ped to make Honda's.. Even if you buy only to flip it, someone will be getting a good start on a very cool car... Tony
Friend of mine found a 37K mile 50' Pontiac 2dr sedan in a garage. Interior is perfect, paint is flaking on one quarter where it had body work at one time. The chrome is tarnished but not pitted. He bought it and is now asking $15K for it. Its a running and driving car.
Yeah, get it. You can probably sell all the options for your money back. Ebay is your friend here. -Brad
You cannot loose...........BUT 2 dr models are more desireable than the 4 dr. I wouldn't part it out if it's as complete as you say...........even if it has 2 "extra" doors, it's too unique to dis***emble.
Keith bought the car and saved it from certain crusher abuse. I then sold it to a guy wanting a good project car for what I bought it for. Sometimes it's just not turning a buck but, saving a pretty cool ride so that someone else can enjoy it.
even though the thread is a corpse im glad you saved the car and someone who wanted it took it home ,
