Just heard that Bill Gefre died last week. I did a search and didn't find anything so here it is. Some stuff he has done. Personally, i knew of him but was never lucky enough to meet him. He was kind of a local legend.
I knew he had his hand in alot of the better know local 60's drag cars. I didn't realize all the famous local "street rods" that had felt his touch.
The Mustang is an amazing paint job. It was painted in the early 80's and is still perfect. I've got recent pics on my computer. I'll find them and post them.

Bill was an incredible person, one of the finest body and paint guys in Minnesota. My ***ociation with Bill goes back to the days in the Torquers car club in Minneapolis in the early 60's. In fact that first picture is one I took of the club members at the Torquers garage on Nicollet Island. Those were the days. Rest in peace, Billy, your memory will go on for years in the history of Minnesota hot rodding. -Jerry Johnson
Bill stopped by the shop one day in Dec to give some very good advice on my frame for the 30 Hudson. A lot of people where at the funeral, just to show how many lives Bill touch. You will be missed Bill
Please see this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233033&showall=1 I'm looking for info on Lil Ebony, a truck Bill built. I believe the white 35 Ford in the first set of pics is the same truck as well!
Thanks for your post about Bill Gefre he was one of the best bodymen to walk the earth and a real friend. The loss hurts my heart.
I can't get over all the cars Bill had a hand in. Many of those cars were very influential to me growing up.
There are a lot more pics of cars he has built/worked on. I will try to get some more and maybe post them up this weekend. I miss you a lot Grandpa Bill. RIP.
