Replacing 1940 cowl

    Has anybody ever replaced a complete cowl and firewall on a 1940 Ford Deluxe.My cowl is bad and I have a complete cowl firewall that is in great shape.Any suggestion or thoughts on how to do this.

    Cut the old one out...Fit and weld the good one in. Is this a serious question?
     
  3. Fit the doors the best you can then add braceing inside the body, kinda like when you chop a car. This will help hold things in place when you cut the bad parts off. Hope this helps.

    this is realitively easy if the body is mounted on a frame

    drill out the spot welds and take it out. put the other one in and weld it up

    I second this......main thing to concentrate on will be your door gaps and fit.
